Kit for educational structures
A kit for creating educational structures includes a plurality of barbell-shaped pieces formed of a hook-and-loop tape material. The barbell-shaped pieces include a first end, a second end, and an elongated middle section extending the first and second end. The kit includes a hub having a plurality of petals formed on a perimeter thereof, the petals having a shape corresponding to a shape of the first and second ends of the barbell-shaped pieces. The hub is also formed of a hook-and-loop material and the barbell-shaped pieces are attachable thereto. A series of attachment pieces in the shape of landmasses of the Earth are also provided. The kit can be used to create the model of a globe, various three-dimensional shapes, grids, and can be utilized for a number of different educational purposes.
EXPERIMENTAL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WHOLE-PROCESS SIMULATION OF SEEPAGE FAILURE IN FILLING-TYPE KARST MEDIA
A whole-process simulation experiment system has: a visualized model system with test samples and serving as a bearing device for the simulation of whole-process seepage of filling-type karst; a controllable support system supporting a visualized model box and controlling fluid seepage direction in the box by changing its inclination angle; a servo loading system controlling water pressure in the test process and providing four different loading modes for the box; a high-speed camera system recording water flow and particle motion in a transparent seepage model box in the seepage failure process; a comprehensive data measuring system monitoring and recording the change rules of factors including but not limited to seepage pressure, seepage amount and sand gushing amount in the seepage failure process; and an information analysis and feedback system recording and analyzing the seepage process and the whole seepage failure process in real time to achieve data processing and feedback.
Predicting social, economic and learning outcomes
One example includes predicting social, economic, and learning outcomes for a geographic entity at a future time. The outcomes are predicted using near-real-time student data indicators and correlations between the indicators and the outcomes.
ELEMENTARY EDUCATION LEARNING SYSTEM
An apparatus for educating children includes a sock with an open end and a closed end. The apparatus includes a first sock symbol located on the first side of the sock which is oriented with a top of the first sock symbol oriented toward the closed end of the sock. The apparatus includes a second sock symbol located on the second side of the sock toward the closed end which is oriented with a bottom of the second sock symbol toward the closed end of the sock. Bending an end of the sock toward the first side inverts the second sock symbol and places it and a portion of the second side in a position to be viewed from the first side of the sock. The first and second sock symbols differ. The first and the second sock symbols are related to a same sock topic.
Empirical expert determination and question routing system and method
The system collects location tracking data about each user and analyzes the location tracking data to determine the level of expertise a user has for a specific venue/event or a specific geographic region at a particular scale on a map. The system receives questions about a specific venue/event or about a category of venue/event in a specific geographic region at a particular scale on a map and routes those questions in real time to one or more experts for the specific venue/event or the category of venue/event in the specific geographic region. The system receives a response to the question from at least one of the one or more experts and routes the response back to the requestor, also in real time. The system also efficiently represents the location of a plurality of venues/events and/or users within a specific geographic region on a displayed map at a plurality of scales.
Game and method of playing a game
A game and a method of playing the game are disclosed. The game comprises a board having a domain region and a plurality of theme regions. Each theme region is associated with a theme. The game also provides each player with a plurality of game pieces, and each game piece of the plurality of game pieces is associated with an identifier. Each information bearing member of a plurality of information bearing members is associated with a theme and an identifier. Placing one game piece of the plurality of game pieces in one of the theme regions causes one of the plurality of information bearing members to be selected in accordance with the identifier associated with the placed game pieces and the theme associated with theme region in which such game piece was placed. Information specified by the selected information bearing member is presented to all of the players.
EDUCATIONAL TRAINING SYSTEMS, GAMES, AND METHODS
Games and systems for playing those games are described that are non-consequential, intuitively educational, reflective, and physically-interactive. The games can be played by players at a variety of skill levels and ages, using a set of unique cards and signs that direct the players to interact with one another and the game in ways that promote mental and physical development.
Portable Education Assembly
A portable education assembly for teaching elementary and middle school curriculum in a vehicle includes a pair of supports. Each of the supports engages a head rest in a vehicle. A plurality of panels is provided and each of the panel is removably coupled to the support. In this way each of the panels is positioned on the back side of the vehicle seat thereby facilitating each of the panels to be visible to a user seated in a back seat in the vehicle. Each of the panels has indicia is printed thereon. The indicia correspond to curriculum in elementary and middle school to assist in teaching the curriculum to the user in the back seat.
