LIGHT-SENSITIVE PHOTOCHROMIC CONTACT LENS DEMONSTRATION DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS

Light-sensitive photochromic contact lens demonstration devices and related methods are disclosed. To provide for the convenient and efficient demonstration of a photochromic contact lens change, the demonstration device includes a controllable lighting-emitting device to expose a demonstrated photochromic contact lens to UltraViolet (UV) and/or High-Energy Visible (HEV) light to cause a photochromic contact lens to change from a non-darkened to darkened state. The demonstration device also includes a viewing window that allows viewing of the contact lens changing from a non-darkened to darkened state as a result of exposure to UV/HEV light and back to a non-darkened state when the light is removed. Further, the photochromic contact lens demonstration device can also include an optional heating circuit to heat the photochromic contact lens during demonstration to cause the photochromic contact lens to change from a darkened state back to a non-darkened state more quickly.

Apparatus For Simulating An Atonic Uterine Body

An apparatus for simulating an atonic uterine body after childbirth includes a one-piece part, which includes: a flexible body having the shape of an atonic uterine body after childbirth, the flexible body is bendable by hand so that the flexible body reproduces a haptic behavior of an atonic uterine body after childbirth; and a rigid neck extending the flexible body, the rigid neck surrounding an opening of the part, the rigid neck having a rigidity greater than a rigidity of the flexible body. The part defines an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines an inner cavity of the part, wherein
the inner cavity opens out into the outer surface so as to define the opening.

DIALYSIS TRAINING USING DIALYSIS TREATMENT SIMULATION SYSTEM
20230237929 · 2023-07-27 ·

A system and method is provided for training operators (e.g., users), including new nurses or nephrologists as well as patients or their family members, to learn the intricacies of dialysis (e.g., hemodialysis) treatment through a simulation. The simulation may afford users the ability to fail catastrophically in simulated dialysis treatment, see the consequences, learn and internalize complex algorithms, and develop the ability to think in a time pressured situation. The simulation may thereby provide a safe learning environment for experiencing decisions and consequences of these decisions when performing a dialysis treatment. In some instances, the simulation may be in a mobile application form factor to encourage more ubiquitous use on personal devices, which may provide ease of access for the dialysis training. The simulation may further include time-based simulated scenarios that increase in difficulty and complexity between levels.

A tooth model for dental treatment practice is composed of a transparent material and includes a root canal in which a hollow neural tube is formed and a crown formed on top of the root canal, wherein a coating layer is formed inside the neural tube by applying a paint based on an opaque material to an inner surface of the neural tube, so as to show the neural tube formed inside the root canal to the outside.

HEALTH TESTING AND DIAGNOSTICS PLATFORM

Systems and methods for providing a universal platform for at-home health testing and diagnostics are provided herein. In particular, a health testing and diagnostic platform is provided to connect medical providers with patients and to generate a unique, private testing environment. In some embodiments, the testing environment may facilitate administration of a medical test to a patient with the guidance of a proctor. In some embodiments, the patient may be provided with step-by-step instructions for test administration by the proctor within a testing environment. The platform may display unique, dynamic testing interfaces to the patient and proctor to ensure proper testing protocols and accurate test result verification.

Birthing simulation devices, systems, and methods

A patient simulator system includes a fetal patient simulator including a simulated torso and a simulated head attached to the simulated torso and being moveable in relation to the simulated torso between a neutral position and a raised position. An actuator is configured to raise the simulated head from the neutral position to the raised position. The actuator may be disposed within the simulated head of the fetal patient simulator. The patient simulator system may further include a maternal patient simulator in which the fetal patient simulator is adapted to be disposed to simulate a birthing scenario. The actuator may raise the simulated head from the neutral position to the raised position during the birthing scenario to simulate the rise of a natural fetus's head during birth. The actuator may comprise an inflatable bag or other member positioned outside of the fetal patient simulator and within the maternal patient simulator.
