SURFACE MARKING ROBOTS AND FLOOR PLANS
In an example, a method of operating a surface marking robot comprises receiving a first digital representation of a floor plan comprising a plurality of floor plan features, and identifying a specific floor plan feature corresponding to a specific printing resources consumption. In response to identifying the specific floor plan feature, the method comprises modifying the first digital representation to produce a second digital representation in which the specific floor plan feature is replaced by an alternative floor plan feature corresponding to an alternative printing resources consumption which is reduced compared to the specific printing resources consumption.
Systems for training firefighters and first responders
Systems and methods for training firefighters and other first responders are provided. The systems include a plurality of sensors configured to detect at least one ambient condition, such as, temperature; a receiver configured to receive the electric signals from the plurality of sensors; and a digital storage device operatively connected to the receiver and adapted to store the electrical signals corresponding to the detected ambient conditions. The data detected by the sensors can be retrieved for later review, analysis, and training. The systems may include at least one video recorder and/or at least one infrared image recorder each configured to detect images that can be stored for later retrieval and a synchronizing device adapted to synchronize the sensor data with the recorded images for later review. Methods of implementing the systems and portable cases enclosing the system are also provided.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SCANNING AN ENVIRONMENT AND GENERATING TWO DIMENSIONAL IMAGES OF THE ENVIRONMENT
A system and method of generating a two-dimensional (2D) image of an environment is provided. The system includes a housing having a body and a handle. A 2D scanner is disposed in the body and has a light source, an image sensor and a controller, the light source steers a beam of light within a first plane to illuminate object points in the environment. The image sensor is arranged to receive light reflected from the object points and the controller determines a distance value to at least one of the object points. An inertial measurement unit is provided having a 3D accelerometer and a 3D gyroscope. One or more processors are responsive to executable instructions for generating a 2D image of the environment in response to an activation signal from an operator and based at least in part on the distance values and the signal.

Modular fenestration system
A modular fenestration system includes a collection of standardized functional units such as double hung window units, casement window units, picture window units, transom units, and the like. The functional units all share common sightlines, common glass set-back, common interfaces, common design language, and are sized according to a unique modular or incremental sizing grid. The sizing grid specifies individual window units in terms of the rough opening size in which they are designed to be installed. Individual functional units are easily combinable in a vast array of combinations to create a large number of possible composite window units. The above attributes of the functional units ensures that the composite window units are architecturally pleasing and appear as though they were custom crafted. The system also includes a collection of interior and interior trim units in various architectural styles that can be attached to installed standardized functional units via the common interfaces to match the architecture of a particular home or building. A collection of matching architectural grilles and hardware also are provided, and the trim units, grills, and hardware are all historically and period accurate to represent a wide variety of architectures both past and present. Exterior and interior trim can be built up from a limited number of standard components that can be combined in a large number of ways to create a wide variety of trim profiles.
