The display panel is configured to rotate about the axis at a rate commensurate with the refresh rate of the display panel.
Rotational blur-free image generation
According to one implementation, an image generation system includes a rotor and a motor for spinning the rotor about an axis of rotation, and a display secured to the rotor. The display includes a display surface and a display aperture, a first privacy screen situated at the display surface and having a convex curvature relative to light emitted from the display surface, and a second privacy screen situated between the first privacy screen and the display aperture and having a concave curvature relative to light emitted from the display surface. The first privacy screen and the second privacy screen are configured to substantially prevent rotational blur of an image displayed by the display surface while the display is spun by the motor and the rotor.
FAN ASSEMBLY FOR DISPLAYING AN IMAGE
Apparatus and methods for displaying an image by a rotating structure are provided. The rotating structure can comprise blades of a fan. The fan can be a cooling fan for an electronics device such as an augmented reality display. In some embodiments, the rotating structure comprises light sources that emit light to generate the image. The light sources can comprises light-field emitters. In other embodiments, the rotating structure is illuminated by an external (e.g., non-rotating) light source.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF A REAL-WORLD OBJECT IN THREE PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS
A method includes capturing a plurality of different views of a real-world object with a plurality of image capture devices, and generating a visual representation of the real-world object in three physical dimensions by displaying images on a transparent display device that continuously rotates completely around an axis of rotation. The images displayed on the transparent display device are selected based on the plurality of different views of the real-world object. A system includes a plurality of image capture devices arranged to capture a plurality of different views of a real-world object, a transparent display device configured to continuously rotate completely around an axis of rotation, and a processor based apparatus. A storage medium storing one or more computer programs is also provided.
