Convolution-based camera and display calibration

Techniques for calibrating cameras and displays are disclosed. An image of a target is captured using a camera. The target includes a tessellation having a repeated structure of tiles. The target further includes unique patterns superimposed onto the tessellation. Matrices are formed based on pixel intensities within the captured image. Each of the matrices includes values each corresponding to the pixel intensities within one of the tiles. The matrices are convolved with kernels to generate intensity maps. Each of the kernels is generated based on a corresponding unique pattern of the unique patterns. An extrema value is identified in each of the intensity maps. A location of each of the unique patterns within the image is determined based on the extrema value for each of the intensity maps. A device calibration is performed using the location of each of the unique patterns.

An electronic device (e.g., smartphone) can be connected to an external display device, allowing the electronic device to display content on the external display device. The external display device can be a standalone display device or be part of another electronic device (e.g., a laptop or tablet). The electronic device supports multiple input styles including a gesture-based input style and a non-gesture-based input style. The electronic device adapts to the external display device by using the gesture-based input style if the external display device is touch enabled and using the non-gesture-based if the external display is not touch enabled. Additionally or alternatively, the external display device adapts to the input style being used by the electronic device by displaying an augmentation bar associated with the content and supporting the non-gesture-based input style when the external display device detects that the electronic device is using the gesture-based input style.

The system is configured to provide an application-specific display of the multi-viewer display since the display circuitry is configured to forward data associated with the output signal in the application-specific layout based on the predefined information of the system setup, thereby providing an application-specific display layout and an application-specific room design.

The present application provides a gesture determining method and an electronic device. The gesture determining method includes: sensing a control gesture through at least one motion sensor, and correspondingly generating sensing data; sequentially segmenting the sensing data into a plurality of streaming windows according to a unit of time, each streaming window including a group of sensing values; determining whether a sensing value in a streaming window is greater than a critical value, and triggering subsequent gesture recognition when the sensing value is greater than the critical value; and performing a recognition operation on the streaming window by using a gesture recognition model to consecutively output a recognition result; and determining whether the recognition result meets an output condition, and outputting a predicted gesture corresponding to the recognition result when the recognition result meets the output condition.
