A method for switching a screen state, a terminal, and computer-readable medium are provided. The method includes: transmitting a transmission sound wave when it is detected that the screen state of the terminal is in a light-on state during a voice communication session, the transmission sound wave being a sound wave of a pre-defined frequency; determining a target detection region when a target receiving sound wave is received through a plurality of pre-installed sound wave receiving devices, the target receiving sound wave being formed by reflecting the transmission sound wave by a target object; and switching the screen state of the terminal from the light-on state into a light-off state when it is determined that the target object is located in the target detection region.

BACKLIGHT CONTROL AND IMAGE COMPENSATION METHOD APPLIED TO DISPLAY AND ASSOCIATED CONTROL METHOD
20180005599 · 2018-01-04 ·

A control method of a display includes a statistics circuit, a backlight determining circuit and a backlight control circuit. The display includes a backlight module having a maximum power. The statistics module receives frame, and generates luminance statistical information of a plurality of blocks included in the frame. The backlight determining circuit determines a backlight intensity corresponding to each of the blocks according to the luminance statistical information of the blocks and the maximum power. At least one of the backlight intensities corresponding to the blocks is greater than a normal luminance, which is a backlight intensity corresponding to one of the blocks when the maximum power is evenly distributed on light emitting elements of the display. The backlight control circuit controls the luminance of the backlight module according to the backlight intensities.

Method for hybrid pulse amplitude and width modulation in LED drivers for display panels

Driving a LED array includes determining total charge to be transferred to the LEDs during an image frame, and determining a number of drive pulses of equal width and amplitude that would drive the LEDs with nearly the total charge during display of the image frame. One of the drive pulses is modified so the drive pulses drive the LEDs with the total charge during display. If the width is greater than a minimum width and less than a maximum width, the LEDs are driven with the drive pulses. If the width is less than the minimum width and if an amplitude is greater than a minimum amplitude, the amplitude of the drive pulses is decremented. If the width is less than the minimum width and if the amplitude is equal to the minimum amplitude and if the number of drive pulses is greater than one, the number is decremented.

Display Management for High Dynamic Range Video
20180013927 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A display management processor receives an input image with enhanced dynamic range to be displayed on a target display which has a different dynamic range than a reference display. The input image is first transformed into a perceptually-quantized (PQ) color space, preferably the IPT-PQ color space. A color volume mapping function, which includes an adaptive tone-mapping function and an adaptive gamut mapping function, generates a mapped image. A detail-preservation step is applied to the intensity component of the mapped image to generate a final mapped image with a filtered tone-mapped intensity image. The final mapped image is then translated back to the display's preferred color space. Examples of the adaptive tone mapping and gamut mapping functions are provided.

Method for Operating an Interactive Visibility Screen, a Pane Device and a Motor Vehicle
20180012562 · 2018-01-11 · ·

The invention relates to a method for operating an interactive visibility screen on a transparent pane of a pane device, in particular in a motor vehicle. The visibility screen is generated by means of a display unit of the pane device on the pane by pixel-wise fade-in of opaque image points, wherein the image points form a coherent visibility screen area. In the method, an operational action by the user is first detected by means of a detection device, which comprises a selection of a setting range and a movement relative to the pane. Subsequently, an expansion of the visibility screen area at the setting range is set as a function of the detected movement by means of a control device.
