MULTI-LAYER FETCH DURING COMPOSITION
In general, techniques are described for performing multi-layer image fetching using a single hardware image fetcher pipeline of a display processor. A device comprising a layer buffer, and a display processor may be configured to perform the techniques. The layer buffer may be configured to store two or more independent layers. The display processor may include a single hardware image fetcher pipeline. The single hardware image fetcher pipeline may be configured to concurrently retrieve, from the layer buffer, two or more independent layers, concurrently process the two or more independent layers, and concurrently output, by two or more outputs of the single hardware image fetcher pipeline, the two or more processed independent layers for composition to form one of the frames to be displayed by one or more display units.
Liquid crystal display device and electronic device having sensor circuit comprising a transistor and a capacitor
A novel liquid crystal display device (LCD) including a touch sensor. The LCD includes a first substrate and a second substrate, which face each other, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate is provided with a pixel electrode. The second substrate is provided with a first electrode, a second electrode, and an insulating layer. The pixel electrode overlaps with the first electrode with the liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. The second electrode overlaps with the first electrode with the insulating layer interposed therebetween. The LCD generates a signal corresponding to a potential of the second electrode. This structure enables a thin and lightweight LCD.
DISPLAY SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A novel display system is provided. The display system includes a display portion and a control portion. The control portion includes a controller and a memory device. The display portion has a function of displaying an image. The controller has a function of outputting a signal for controlling a refresh rate of the image. The memory device has a function of storing data including data indicating a recognition state of the image and data on whether a flicker is recognized in the recognition state by a user or not. The controller has a function of changing the refresh rate of the image with reference to the data stored in the memory device when data on whether a flicker is recognized or not is input by the user.

Control device and remote controller
The storage unit prestores element image data presenting an element image contained in a display image in an image data region that is a continuous storage region, and prestores draw command data containing data for creating display data presenting the display image in which the element image is placed in a draw command region that is a continuous storage region. The central processing unit makes reference to a screen management table when a predetermined drawing condition is satisfied to identify and output the draw command identification data corresponding to the satisfied drawing condition. The draw processing unit acquires from the storage unit the draw command data identified with the output draw command identification data, and creates and outputs to the display unit the display data placing the element image based on the acquired draw command data.

Memory device for a display device having various image data injection directions
A memory device includes a row selection unit for selecting word lines of a memory array, a column selection unit for selecting data lines of the memory array, a last address storing unit for storing a last row address and a last column address, and a selection address generating unit for providing a row selection address and a column selection address to select the word lines and the data lines. In the memory device, start row and column addresses are determined based on the first and last row addresses, the first and last column addresses, the row section address and the column selection address and forwardly or backwardly counted based on directions corresponding to image data injection directions in a display panel to which the memory device provides the image data.
Image conversion of text-based images
Conversion of text-based images to vector graphics (VG) is disclosed. The text-based images may include images of equations, custom typefaces, or other types of text that may not be included in a font selection of an optical character recognition (OCR) device or an application stored on a viewing device. A textual image may be converted from a raster graphics (RG) image to a VG image, which may enable resizing and alignment of the VG image with body text. In some aspects, the server may determine a body size of a reference character in the VG image. The server may determine a baseline of the VG image that may be used to align the image with the body text.
Systems and methods for operating an energy-efficient display
Described systems and methods allow minimizing energy use and increasing battery life of a wearable device such as a smartwatch, by optimizing the way an image displayed to the user is updated in response to an event. In some embodiments, an image of each display object (e.g., clock hand, text, weather symbol, fitness icon) is individually stored in an image cache, such as a processor register or a separate section of memory. A new, updated on-screen image is computed dynamically, by combining cached images of the respective display objects. When the appearance of a current display object must change in response to the event, an updated image of the respective object is cached for future use.
Hybrid projection/OLED display
A hybrid projection display system that provides image quality superior to that of a traditional projection display system is provided. The provided hybrid projection display system flexibly supports arbitrary screen sizes and non-planar screen surfaces.
