VR video processing method and related apparatus
A virtual reality (VR) video processing apparatus and a VR method divides a received video image into a plurality of regions, establishes a region popularity table of the video image and updates the region popularity table by tracking an angle of view of a user when a video is playing, to collect information about a hotspot region in a panoramic video, and sends a hotspot region prompt to the user.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF DRIVING DISPLAY PANEL USING THE SAME
A display apparatus includes a display panel, a gate driver, a data driver and a driving controller. The display panel displays an image based on input image data. The gate driver outputs a gate signal to a gate line of the display panel. The data driver outputs a data voltage to a data line of the display panel. The driving controller controls operations of the gate driver and the data driver and drive a still image display area and a video image display area of a display area of the display panel in different driving frequencies. The driving controller includes a still image determiner which divides the input image data into a plurality of still image determining blocks, respectively determines whether the still image determining blocks represent a still image or a video image and determines a boundary between the still image display area and the video image display area.
DISPLAY DEVICE, CONTROLLER, AND DISPLAY DRIVING METHOD
The present disclosure relates to display devices, controllers, and display driving methods, and more specifically, to a display device, a controller, and a display driving method capable of selectively overdriving only a pattern of an image or sub-pixel regarded as a more likely lack of charge. Through this, there is provided an effect of preventing excessive compensation due to unnecessary overdriving.
CONTENT PRESENTATION ON DISPLAY SCREENS
Content presented on a display screen is updated responsive to a user input. Content is retrieved and segmented into bands that are rendered onto the display screen incrementally to provide a visual effect similar to an animation. A band is rendered at a starting location and after a refresh interval passes a subsequent band is rendered at a second starting location. The bands may be rendered until the content is shown on the display screen.
METHOD FOR DRIVING A DISPLAY PANEL AND DISPLAY DEVICE
Provided are a method for driving a display panel, the method comprises a plurality of picture update periods, wherein at least one of the plurality of picture update periods comprises a first data write stage, a second data write stage, and a data retention stage; at least one of the first data write stage precedes at least one of the second data write stage; at the first data write stage, a gate scanning signal is provided for and a first data voltage is written to a pixel unit; at the second data write stage, the gate scanning signal is provided for and a second data voltage is written to the pixel unit, wherein the first data voltage is less than the second data voltage.
Context aware selective backlighting techniques
Context aware backlighting techniques include determining a focal point of a display space based on a user display context. An example backlight controller for selective backlight control of a monitor includes interface circuitry, memory, machine-readable instructions, and processor circuitry to execute the machine readable instructions to obtain a user display context relative to the monitor, the user display context based on sensor data, the sensor data to include user proximity data; determine whether to enable or disable the selective backlighting for the monitor based on the user display context; cause first backlight sections of the monitor to output at a first light intensity based on the user display context; and cause second backlight sections of the monitor to output at least one of (a) the first light intensity or (b) a second light intensity that is different than the first light intensity based on the determination.
Display device
Disclosed herein is a display device for preventing a luminance floatation phenomenon in a low grayscale region. The display device includes a display panel, an external input interface configured to receive an image signal from an external device, and a controller configured to adjust a gamma value when an input frequency of the image signal is less than an output frequency of the display panel and a variable refresh rate (VRR) function for changing the output frequency according to the input frequency is activated and to output the image signal to the display panel based on the adjusted gamma value.
Head-Mounted Display Apparatus for Retaining a Portable Electronic Device with Display
Head-mounted display systems and methods of operation that allow users to couple and decouple a portable electronic device such as a handheld portable electronic device with a separate head-mounted device (e.g., temporarily integrates the separate devices into a single unit) are disclosed. The portable electronic may be physically coupled to the head-mounted device such that the portable electronic device can be worn on the user's head. The portable electronic device may be operatively coupled to the head-mounted device such that the portable electronic device and head mounted device can communicate and operate with one another. Each device may be allowed to extend its features and/or services to the other device for the purpose of enhancing, increasing and/or eliminating redundant functions between the head-mounted device and the portable electronic device.
Flexible display module and switch unit for switching a display pattern
The present technology relates to a display module which enables the display module capable of improving a design quality of a product to be applied to various types of products. The display module is provided with a flexible sheet-shaped display unit, a switch unit which switches a display pattern of the display unit, and a control unit which controls a display pattern of the display unit on the basis of a switch control signal from the switch unit. The display unit is electrically connected to the control unit, and the control unit is electrically connected to the switch unit by using a wiring cable. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a bag and the like a display pattern of which may be changed.
Display driving integrated circuit, display device and method of operating same
A display driving integrated circuit (DDIC) driving a display device and including; a host interface configured to receive image data from a host device, an interface monitor configured to generate a mode signal indicating a still image mode or a video mode by detecting whether the image data from the host device is transferred through the host interface, a processing circuit configured to generate processed data by processing the image data, a conversion circuit configured to perform data conversion on the processed data to generate display data driving a display panel, and a path controller configured to store the processed data in a frame buffer and transfer the processed data stored in the frame buffer to the conversion circuit in the still image mode, and further configured to transfer the processed data to the conversion circuit without storing the processed data in the frame buffer in the video mode.
