The display control apparatus comprises interface circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to obtain, via the interface circuitry, information on a user of the display, the information on the user indicating a presence of the user relative to the display or an engagement of the user with the display. The processing circuitry is configured to control, based on the information on the user, a display mode of the display, the display mode affecting at least one of a refresh rate and a backlight of the display.
Backlight control method and apparatus for backlight module, display device
The present disclosure relates to a backlight control method and apparatus for a backlight module, a display device and a computer readable storage medium. The backlight module includes a plurality of backlight partitions. The backlight control method includes, for each backlight partition: determining a first brightness change threshold according to an output backlight brightness corresponding to a previous frame image; and determining, according to a difference between an initial backlight brightness of a current frame image and the output backlight brightness corresponding to the previous frame image and the first brightness change threshold, the output backlight brightness corresponding to the current frame image.
Image data processing circuit and display system
There is an image data processing circuit including a memory storing input image data, the input image data being limited to a specific number of colors or to a specific image range, and a correction processing part replacing, when a predetermined tone change is present between a pixel in image data previous by one frame whose data is stored by the memory and a pixel in image data in a current frame whose data is input, a relevant pixel in the current frame with a color of a specific tone. The memory is built in an integrated circuit included in the correction processing part.
Image data encoding device and method
An image data encoding device includes a data block generating unit configured to split image data into a plurality of data blocks, and a compressing unit configured to generate compressed data with respect to each of the plurality of data blocks, the compressed data including position information regarding positions of first pixels each having a gray scale value equal to a reference gray scale value, and difference values between the reference gray scale value and gray scale values of second pixels, which are different from the reference gray scale value.
Low Power Display Updates
A method for updating images displayed on an electronic display of a mobile device includes determining a time interval between successive updates of an image frame. The image frame is displayed on the electronic display, and the mobile device is configured to be in a low power mode between the successive updates. The method also includes receiving one or more application updates within the time interval after a first update of the image frame, and updating the image frame after the time interval based on the one or more application updates.
TECHNIQUES FOR VIDEO PLAYBACK DECODING SURFACE PREDICTION
Techniques are disclosed for video playback decoding surface prediction. For instance, in some embodiments, video content may be parsed for information that can be used to predict what surfaces (e.g., computer graphics shapes to be rendered, as defined by vertices specifying the location and possibly other attributes of the shape) are most likely to be accessed, for example, by a display or a graphics processing unit (GPU) in the near future. In accordance with some embodiments, these surfaces may be pre-loaded, for example, into cache memory or other desired high-bandwidth memory in advance to minimize or otherwise reduce memory access latency. In some cases, these surfaces may be entered in a list that is kept updated with each new input frame, and the surfaces in that list may be kept inside the cache (or other high-bandwidth memory) for future display or GPU access.
DISPLAY DRIVER INTEGRATED CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY DRIVING METHOD
A display driver integrated circuit and a display driving method are provided. The display driver integrated circuit is suitable for driving a display panel of an electronic device. The display driver integrated circuit includes an image processing circuit, a timing controller, and a data driving circuit. The image processing circuit is configured to generate an output image based on time information, a background image, and an original time indication image. The timing controller is coupled to the image processing circuit, and configured to receive the output image. The data driving circuit is coupled to the timing controller, and configured to receive the output image and generate data voltages according to the output image. The data driving circuit drives the display panel according to the data voltages regarding to the output image.
Display apparatus that controls electric current supplied to display based on the displayed image
A display apparatus includes a display and a controller. The controller is configured to receive, from the display, an arithmetic value for electric current consumption of the display; estimate the electric current consumption of the display based on the arithmetic value that was received; and when the estimated electric current consumption of the display is equal to or greater than a predetermined electric current threshold, decrease an electric current to be supplied to the display. The arithmetic value is calculated based on pixel value information.
