PREEMPTIVE REFRESH FOR REDUCED DISPLAY JUDDER

In an embodiment, an electronic device includes an electronic display. The electronic display provides a programmable latency period in response to receiving a first image frame corresponding to first image frame data. The electronic display also displays the first image frame after the programmable latency period and during display of the first image frame, receives a second image frame corresponding to second image frame data. The electronic display also repeats display of the first image frame in response to receiving the second image frame.

Display Apparatus

A display apparatus comprises a mirror oscillating about a first axis upon excitation by a first excitation signal and about a second axis upon excitation by a second excitation signal, a light source projecting a light beam onto the mirror for deflection towards an image plane, the light source being controller according to pixels read-out by an image processor from a buffer, a gaze tracker detecting a user’s region of interest, ROI, within the image plane, and a controller modulating one of the excitation signals by a modulation signal which is dependent on the ROI such that the number of passes of the light beam per unit area is higher in the ROI than in a region outside thereof, wherein the number of pixels read-out per unit area by the image processor is higher in the ROI than in a region outside of the ROI.

BACKGROUND DISPLAY DEVICE

A background display device for a virtual image recording studio that is configured to display, behind a real subject, a representation of a virtual background for a camera recording comprises at least one panel having a plurality of actively illuminating picture elements. The picture elements form a two-dimensional arrangement that extends along a first direction of extent and a second direction of extent oriented perpendicular thereto, wherein a respective spacing, measured along the second direction of extent, of the picture elements from a first reference line that extends rectilinearly along the first direction of extent varies irregularly along the first direction of extent.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for managing collaboration on a virtual work of art

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for managing collaboration on a virtual work of art between multiple electronic devices are provided. A first graphical display system of a first device may generate an input command in response to receiving user information through a user interface of the first device, and may then share this input command with a second graphical display system of a second device. The first graphical display system may process the shared input command to generate pixel array data in a canvas of the first device while the second graphical display system may process the shared input command to generate pixel array data in a canvas of the second device. By sharing input commands rather than pixel array data, system latency may be reduced. Despite operating on the same artwork, the user interfaces and graphical processing capabilities of each device may vary, thereby providing the user greater expressiveness.

LCC (low cost controllerless) graphics processing

An apparatus includes a graphics driver circuit and a graphics engine circuit. The graphics engine circuit is configured to determine graphics data to be output to a display and to render the graphics data to a buffer. The graphics driver circuit is configured to output the buffer to the display. The graphics engine circuit is further configured to, while the graphics driver circuit is outputting the first buffer to the display, encode the first graphics data into another buffer, and to signal the graphics driver circuit to output the other buffer to the display.

Systems and methods are provided for providing Response Time Compensation (RTC) by generating multiple overdrive look-up tables (LUTs) for a display device are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a controller and a memory coupled to the controller, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the controller to generate multiple LUTs each having alternate grey levels selected to implement RTC in a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), wherein the alternate grey levels of each of the LUTs is calculated, at least in part, by taking into account one of a plurality of pixel lines of a video stream.

TIMING CONTROLLER, CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF, AND DISPLAY DEVICE WITH THE TIMING CONTROLLER

The present invention provides a timing controller and a controlling method thereof, and a display device with the timing controller. The timing controller includes a storage control module and a frame buffer module connected to each other, and a self-refresh interface connected to the front-end system chip. When the front-end system chip displays a static screen image, the timing controller provided by the present invention can only maintain internal essential modules working and suspend other modules on standby, which reduces power consumption of the timing controller and enhances an operation life of the display device with the timing controller.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device includes: an image display having at least one first display area and a second display area; a memory configured to store image data; and a timing controller configured to store first image data for the first display area in the memory after first image data for the first display area and the second display area is received from a host device, wherein the timing controller is configured to control the image display unit so as to display a first image in the first display area by loading the first image data for the first display area from the memory and to display a preset second image in the second display area.

An image processing device having a processor coupled to a memory. The processor is programmed to process two or more media formats stored in the memory, each media format is made up of one or more digital image layers that includes non-transparent pixels and may include transparent pixels. The processor is programmed to: set the non-transparent pixels in each of the digital image layer of the two or more media formats to a contrast state, set pixels stored in an off-screen data buffer of the memory to pixels corresponding to a predetermined color scheme, apply an image function to each media format that is drawn to the off-screen data buffer so as to allow the plurality of overlapping media formats to be displayed on the display screen as see through.

ACCELERATED FRAME TRANSMISSION
20230148254 · 2023-05-11 ·

A graphics processing unit (GPU) of a processing system transmits pixel data for a frame to a display in a compressed burst, so that the pixel data is communicated at a rate that is higher than the rate at which the display scans out the pixel data to refresh the frame at a display panel. By transmitting pixel data for the frame in a compressed burst, the GPU shortens the time spent transmitting the pixel data and extends the time before the next frame of pixel data is to be transmitted. During the extended time before the next frame of pixel data is to be transmitted, the GPU saves power by placing portions of the processing system in a reduced power mode.
