A smart landing pad comprises a flexible display that shows images or patterns, and a protective layer over the display. The protective layer allows a UAV to land without damaging the display. Locator and range finder devices, coupled to the display, communicate with the UAV. The display is operative for wireless communications with a computer or mobile device that provides on-demand user functions, allowing for dynamically changing or customizing the images/patterns shown on the display. The images/patterns comprise a background area showing changeable images that match an environment where the landing pad is placed, and a target landing area surrounded by the background area. The target landing area includes a changeable insensitive, contrast portion, and changeable marker pattern portions having changeable colors/shapes. The images/patterns also include changeable QR codes on the target landing area. The display is IoT enabled so that data from the landing pad is remotely cloud accessible.

The method displays, by the processor unit, a three-dimensional view of a group of objects in the aircraft on the graphical user interface on the mobile device with a point-of-view at a selected distance from an object in the group of objects and in a direction when a fixed feature corresponding to the object is selected from the fixed features in the two-dimensional layout using an input system for the mobile device. The method changes, by the processor unit, the direction of the three-dimensional view in response to movement of the mobile device.

A system method for providing aircraft lateral navigation system capability feedback to a pilot includes determining, in a processor, when a flight plan has been received that includes a flight leg that needs to be captured by the aircraft. A determination is made, in the processor, when an armed signal has been received, where the armed signal indicating that an aircraft autopilot navigation mode (NAV) has been armed. The processor is used to command a display device to render the flight leg using a first display paradigm when the armed signal has not been received, and to render the flight leg using a second display paradigm when the armed signal has been received.

A method is present for presenting a flight deck. A model of the flight deck is identified having a number of locations for a number of displays. Aircraft data is obtained. A number of panels is generated from the aircraft data. A display of the flight deck is generated containing the number of panels in the number of locations to form a presentation of the flight deck.
