INSULATOR
20190108817 · 2019-04-11 · ·

An insulator is implemented such that a lower structure member to be brought into contact with a floor surface allows an upper structure member on which a piano is placed to be suspended through a cantilever spring member and a first wire, and a second wire connects the upper structure member and the lower structure member to each other in the horizontal direction, and the insulator thus functions so as to maintain intrinsic sound generated by the piano by free vibration in pendulum motion using the upper end of the first wire as a pivot, and richness of the sound is enhanced and transmission to a floor surface is inhibited, and, further, vibration caused by a key and a pedal being operated by a performer is reduced by elasticity of the cantilever spring member and the tensile force that acts on any of the second wires, and the performer does not feel uncomfortable with the operation.

Soundboard apparatus and method of forming
10204601 · 2019-02-12 · ·

The present invention concerns soundboard apparatus for a musical instrument, the apparatus comprising a soundboard substrate formed of composite fibrous resin bonded material having a thickness of between 0.75 mm and 3 mm; and an outer layer formed of ultra-violet light blocking material having a thickness of between 0.5 and 0.9 mm. Further, the present invention relates to a method of forming a soundboard apparatus, the method comprising the steps of: bonding multiple layers of woven or straight stranded fibrous material in a resinous matrix to form a soundboard substrate, wherein the soundboard substrate is formed such that it is oversized with respect to final soundboard substrate dimensions; and finishing the soundboard substrate to form the final substrate, the finishing process being constrained to ensure that the final substrate dimensions are not compromised.

Acoustic material and musical instrument

An acoustic material is provided which includes a plurality of wood veneers laminated via an adhesive, in which the veneer is impregnated with the adhesive, and the adjacent veneers are substantially in contact with one another. The adjacent veneers are impregnated with the adhesive in an amount of preferably no less than 1 g/m.sup.2 and no greater than 50 g/m.sup.2 per unit area in and around a boundary region of the adjacent veneers. The adhesive may be a water-soluble adhesive or a water-based emulsion adhesive. The veneer may be a rotary veneer, a sawn veneer or a sliced veneer. A musical instrument is further provided which includes a sound board, in which the acoustic material is used as the sound board.

Grand piano

Provided is a grand piano comprising a rim made of a transparent material, an outer layer formed of a semi-light transmitting material, an inner layer and a bottom layer, which are formed of a material reflecting light received through the rim, and a light source comprising a plurality of point light sources to emit light toward the rim.

Instrument provided with an assembled soundboard
10147402 · 2018-12-04 · ·

The invention relates to an instrument provided with an assembled soundboard. The nerve structures of the soundboard components are linked to the bass and middle registers on the one hand and the descant on the other hand and are positioned in a different angle with respect to the keyboard. The different positioning of the nerve structures contributes to an improved sound quality, a balanced volume and a warmer timbre. Moreover, such assembled soundboard offers a better resistance to changing weather conditions (i.e. cold and humidity).
