A string instrument is disclosed having a body with an air cavity defined by a top plate, a bottom plate, and one or more ribs, a bass bar being secured to an inside surface of the top plate, the bass bar comprising a layup of a plurality of laminates constructed from western red cedar and comprising particular dimensions and placement on the top plate relative to the length of the instrument body.

An ergonomic harness for chin-free support of violins and violas that incorporates clamps for a stringed instrument, a support arm, and a stabilizer. A neck strap secures the harness system around the neck of a person playing a stringed instrument and holds the harness in place against the person's shoulder and/or chest. A support arm supports the weight of the instrument and a stabilizer prevents the support arm from rotating.

Endpin Stand Apparatus for Stringed Instruments
Improved endpin stand apparatus for large stringed instruments are provided. The endpin stand apparatus comprises components to elevate the endpin shaft from the floor on which the apparatus rests, may comprise a kickstand, and may comprise components for easy disassembly and reassembly. The endpin stand apparatus may comprise an endpin shaft and/or a hole for receiving an endpin shaft, or may comprise a platform, which supports a large stringed instrument. The endpin stand apparatus allows for adjustment of the height of the apparatus and thus of the stringed instrument, and adjustment of the angle of the instrument relative to the axis defined by the apparatus. The apparatus allows a user to stand while playing the instrument, and to move through a forward-to-back and side-to-side range of motion. The adjustable height and angle allow for a range of instrument locations and angles, and increased range of motion by the musician.
Method for producing a musical string
In a method for producing a musical string, wherein at least one first winding element is wound on a string core of the musical string in the form of a helical line around the string core, it is proposed that during the winding of a first longitudinal section of the string core using the first winding element, a first pre-tension is applied to the string core, and during the winding of a second longitudinal section of the string core, which is different from the first longitudinal section, using the first winding element, a second pre-tension, which is different from the first pre-tension, is applied to the string core.
Accessory assembly for string instrument and string instrument
Multiple accessory assemblies for a string instrument are disclosed. The accessory assembly is a set of an accessory, made of a material of Young's modulus greater than 12 GPa, and at least one sound purifier, made of a material of Young's modulus roughly equal to or less than 3.5 GPa. A string instrument that includes at least one accessory assembly is also discussed.
BONDED BOW
A bonded bow device for providing injured-hand support to a musician in playing a stringed instrument with an injured, disabled or otherwise impaired wrist, finger(s) and/or hand, and to play with a more relaxed wrist. The bonded bow device generally comprises a base formed as an elongate resilient partial-tubular member interrupted by a lengthwise notch configured for clamping a frog of a bow. A double-finger collar is fixedly attached to the base. In use a musician inserts any two adjacent good fingers of either hand through the double-finger collar and furls all remining healthy fingers around the base and bow. No matter the remaining grip strength, the support given by double-finger collar adds enough control to enable the musician to play.
