Music Notation Using a Disproportionate Correlated Scale
20210049987 · 2021-02-18 ·

Methods and systems of music notation for visually representing music that provide a visual scale representing a range of an auditory scale of a portion of a musical composition spanning at least four and a half steps. The visual scale may comprise a plurality of whole-step segments each representing one whole step in the auditory scale. Each whole-step segment may be approximately a first height. The visual scale may also comprise one or more half-step segments each representing one half step in the auditory scale. Each half-step segment may be approximately a second height. A first ratio representing the first height divided by the second height may be significantly greater than a second ratio representing the whole step divided by the half step.

A music piece analyzer includes: a beat-position-acquiring-unit configured to detect beat positions in music piece data; a snare drum detector configured to detect sounding positions of a snare drum in the music piece data; a bass drum detector configured to detect sounding positions of a bass drum in the music piece data; a one-beat-shift-determination-unit configured to determine whether a bar beginning of the music piece data is shifted by one beat based upon the sounding positions of the snare drum detected by the snare drum detector; a two-beat-shift-determination-unit configured to determine whether the bar beginning of the music piece data is shifted by two beats on a basis of the sounding positions of the bass drum detected by the bass drum detector; and a bar-beginning-setting-unit configured to set the bar beginning of the music piece data on a basis of results determined by the one-beat-shift-determination-unit and the two-beat-shift-determination-unit.

Methods and systems for synchronizing MIDI file with external information

A method relating to synchronize MIDI file with video includes acquiring a video and a MIDI file, and identifying timing of a video frame. The method also includes converting timing into tick information and editing a tick of the MIDI file. The method further includes detecting the MIDI file corresponding to the video frame, and playing a musical instrument based on the MIDI file corresponding to the video.
