Hands-free vibraphone modulator
A motor control system is provided for controlling a speed of a motor system used in a musical instrument. The motor control system includes at least one sensing device attached to the musical instrument, and configured for detecting movement of an object and providing a sensor signal based on the movement of the object. Also included in the motor control system is a control unit having a processor connected to the motor system and the at least one sensing device. The control unit is configured for selectively modulating the speed of the motor system based on the sensor signal.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
An information processing device 11 including: a control data generation unit that inputs analysis data X that is to be processed, to a trained model that has learnt a relationship between analysis data X that represents a time series of musical notes, and control data Y for controlling movements of an object that represents a performer, thereby generating control data Y according to the analysis data X.

Electronic musical instrument and electronic musical instrument system
Provided is an electronic musical instrument. The electrical musical instrument is configured to generate an internal acoustic signal; generate a sound generation instruction signal; output the sound generation instruction signal to an external sound source configured to generate an external acoustic signal; switch a first state in which the external acoustic signal is generated by the external sound source in response to the sound generation instruction signal, to a second state in which the internal acoustic signal is generated in response to the sound generation instruction signal; and, when the first state is switched to the second state, control the volume of the internal acoustic signal such that the state relating to the volume of sound generation based on the internal acoustic signal approaches the state relating to the volume of sound generation based on the external acoustic signal.

Method and system for implementing a modal processor
The implementation of modal processors, which involve the parallel combination resonant filters, may be costly for applications such as artificial reverberation that can require thousands of modes. In one embodiment, the input signal is decomposed into a plurality of subbands, the outputs of which are downsampled. In each downsampled band, resonant filters are applied at the downsampled sampling rate, and their output is upsampled and filtered to form the band output.
Piezoresistive sensors and applications
A highly configurable controller is described that includes a number of different types of control mechanisms that emulate a wide variety of conventional control mechanisms using pressure and location sensitive sensors that generate high-density control information which may be mapped to the controls of a wide variety of devices and software.

Automatic performance device and automatic performance method
The automatic performance device includes a storage part for storing a plurality of performance patterns, a performance part for playing a performance on the basis of a performance pattern stored in the storage part, an input part for inputting performance information through an input device that receives a performance operation of a user, and a selection part for selecting a performance pattern being a maximum likelihood estimation from the plurality of performance patterns stored in the storage part on the basis of the performance information input to the input part.
Computationally efficient language based user interface event sound selection
A computer user interface (UI) is capable of generating a sound when a predetermined event occurs. The sound generated when the predetermined event occurs may possess at least some characteristics of a predominant natural language used by a user and/or a location of a computer implementing the UI. This enables the user to quickly assimilate the sound generated when the predetermined event occurs. Because the user quickly assimilates the sound generated when the predetermined event occurs, the user is able to rapidly respond to the predetermined event, at times using the computer UI, which reduces undesirable memory use, processor use and/or battery drain associated with a computing device that implements the computer UI.
