An electronic musical instrument includes a pitch designation unit configured to output performance time pitch data designated at a time of a performance, a performance style output unit configured to output performance time performance style data indicating a performance style at the time of the performance, and a sound generation model unit configured, based on an acoustic model parameter inferred by inputting the performance time pitch data and the performance time performance style data to a trained acoustic model, to synthesize and output musical sound data corresponding to the performance time pitch data and the performance time performance style data, at the time of the performance.

Cadence-Based Selection, Playback, and Transition Between Song Versions

A system and methods for acquiring cadence and selecting a song version based on the acquired cadence are disclosed. If the system detects a new cadence, then a new song version that corresponds to the new cadence can be played. The new song version playback can start in a corresponding position as the location of playback in a currently-playing song version. Each related song version shares one or more characteristics, such as melody, but is different in at least one characteristic, such as tempo.

MUSIC CONTEXT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF REAL-TIME SYNCHRONIZATION OF MUSICAL CONTENT HAVING REGARD TO MUSICAL TIMING
20200074967 · 2020-03-05 ·

Due to discrepancies in musical timing signatures, the invention assesses whether a recorded displacement, expressed in terms of beats and fractions, between exit and entry points for a potential musical splice or cut, corresponds to permit a seamless music splicing of different musical sections. Assessment is achieved by establishing a third time base of pulses having a length dependent upon a lowest common multiple of fractions within respective bars for different sections, with the bars of the respective sections then partitioned into an equal number of fixed length pulses. A coefficient aligns different time signatures; it is a ratio between pulses within the different sections. The coefficient identifies corresponding locations of a cut point, related to a suitable anacrusis, in terms of respectively an aligned bar, beat, quaver and fraction in differing time signatures. The coefficient ensures that the time anacrusis in one time signature is interchangeable with others.

DATA FORMAT

A method for constructing an adaptive media file comprising a plurality of audio components configured to be used to form an audio output arranged to have a controllable tempo, the method comprising providing first audio data associated with a first audio component of the plurality of audio components, setting a playback tempo range of the first audio data, providing second audio data associated with the first audio component, setting a playback tempo range of the second audio data, wherein the tempo range of the second audio data is different to the tempo range of the first audio data, and associating the first audio data, the second audio data and the respective playback tempo ranges.

VARIATIONS AUDIO PLAYBACK

A method for controlling a playback tempo of an audio track to be presented at an audio output, the audio track comprising a plurality of audio components, a first audio component of the plurality of audio components being associated with a plurality of sets of audio data, wherein each set of audio data in the plurality of sets of audio data is associated with a respective playback tempo range, the method comprising receiving a playback tempo for presenting the audio track at the audio output, selecting, from the plurality of sets of audio data, a set of audio data that has an associated playback tempo range comprising the received playback tempo, and allocating the selected set of audio data to the first audio component for presenting the audio track at the audio output.

AUTO-GENERATED ACCOMPANIMENT FROM SINGING A MELODY
20200074966 · 2020-03-05 ·

A method for processing a voice signal by an electronic system to create a song is disclosed. The method comprises the steps in the electronic system of acquiring an input singing voice recording (11); estimating a musical key (15b) and a Tempo (15a) from the singing voice recording (11); defining a tuning control (16) and a timing control (17) able to align the singing voice recording (11) with the estimated musical key (15b) and Tempo (15a); applying the tuning control (16) and the timing control (17) to the singing voice recording (11) so that an aligned voice recording (20) is obtained. Next, the method comprises the step of generating an music accompaniment (23) as function of the estimated musical key (15b) and Tempo (15a) and an arrangement database (22) and mixing the aligned voice recording (20) and the music accompaniment (23) to obtain the song (12). A system a server and a device are also disclosed.

Techniques are provided for generating an output file. One technique involves the steps of generating audio or MIDI content blocks from one or more musical performances; receiving an input file having audio or MIDI music content; generating a harmonic chord map for the input file; using the harmonic chord map to automatically select a subset of the audio or MIDI content blocks, and generating the output file by combining the selected subset of content blocks and the input file. This technique may enable the creation of unique and new musical accompaniments by re-purposing audio or MIDI content from back catalogs and/or out-takes of musical works. The new arrangement may be provided in multiple music styles, genres, or moods and may contain performances from multiple musical instruments, which may be pre-recorded from live instrument performances and/or of MIDI generated musical content.
