Generative composition with defined form atom heuristics
11887568 · 2024-01-30 · ·

The disclosed generative composition system produces a composition to a briefing that describes a musical journey in emotional descriptions. The composition is assembled from concatenated interchangeable Form Atoms FAs selectable by tags aligning emotional descriptions with respective compositional heuristics. Each FA has self-contained constructional properties representative of an historical musical corpus. These heuristics support generation of chords, in chord schemes of musical tonics, achieving an equivalent form function. Each FA also includes chord spacer heuristics that temporally space generated chords across a defined musical window, and a chord list in a local tonic defining branching structures giving options for generating different chords. A progression descriptor, in combination with a form function, expresses musically a question, an answer or a statement, with each FA creating a meta-map of a chord scheme for a musical section. Musical transitions between FA reflect groupings in which FA have similar tags but different constructional properties.

Smart music device and process that allows only key correct notes and scales to be played
10380982 · 2019-08-13 ·

A smart music device and process provide users with an interface to play a selected song in the correct song key. The device includes a graphical user interface with areas demarcated by translucent conductive ink printed on the layer's underside. A layer of force sensor resistors (FSRs) are under the areas. Touching one of the areas closes a circuit between then conductive ink and FSR triggering a note to be played. The demarcated areas are illuminated to guide the user on scale and root node position. Metadata in memory storage includes the song key which is used during song playback to trigger assignment of the key correct scale across the FSRs and illuminate its root position of musical notes. Touching an area triggers a signal sent to a connected musical instrument to play the note.

Musical composition authoring environment integrated with synthetic musical instrument

Advanced, but user-friendly composition and editing environments for musical scores may be provided using the types, and in some cases the instances, of computing devices that will in turn consume musical score content so generated. Indeed, by integrating musical composition facilities within synthetic musical instruments that can be widely deployed on hand-held or portable computing devices, a social music network that includes such synthetic musical instruments gains access to a large, and potentially prolific, population of authors, editors and reviewers, as well as to the community-sourced musical scores that they can generate. By curating such content and/or by applying crowd-sourcing or other computational techniques to maintain quality, a social music network may rapidly deploy the new and ever evolving content that its user community desires.

AUDIBLE USER INTERFACE AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING AND TRACKING FINANCIAL ASSETS
20240212656 · 2024-06-27 ·

A system for audibly conveying financial information using a computerized system. The system receives financial information includes a variable parameter which varies over a time period. The at least one processor associates the received financial data with a musical instrument. It also determines, for a plurality of values of the variable parameter during a time period, a plurality of musical notes based on the values of the variable parameter, and generates audio data associated with the plurality of musical notes corresponding to the changes in the variable parameter. When the processor determines whether any of the plurality of generated musical notes for the associated musical instrument are at the highest or lowest range, and automatically readjust the tonal range of the musical notes or changes the associated musical instrument. The system-generated audio data is audibly reproduced in musical notes of the associated musical instrument.

Electronic Devices and Corresponding Methods for Adjusting Playback Characteristics as Audible Alerts

A method in an electronic device includes detecting, by one or more processors of the electronic device, an operating context of the electronic device. The method then alters, by the one or more processors, one or more of a source file of an audio alert or a playback characteristic of the audio alert as a function of the operating context. The altering can eliminate a mismatch between the audible alert and audio content being delivered by an audio output that the audible alert interrupts. The audio output of the electronic device then delivers the audio alert in response to detecting an audio output triggering event.

ELECTROPHONIC CHORDOPHONE SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD

Provided is an electrophonic chordophone system (20) comprising sensor (24) configured to be operatively responsive to respective strings of a guitar (22). The system (20) also includes non-transitory processor-readable storage means (26) which contains first and second user-configurable tonal formats (28) and (30). Also included is processor (32), arranged in signal communication with the sensor (24) and storage means (26), and adapted to associate a melody group of notes producible by the strings with the first tonal format (28) in a one-to-one mapping or direct correlation, and to associate a control group of notes producible by the strings with the second tonal format (30) in a one-to-many mapping or indirect correlation. Also included is a synthesiser (34), arranged in signal communication with the processor (32), and configured to produce both the first and second tonal formats simultaneously in substantial real-time. The first tonal format (28) is actuatable via the melody group of notes and the second tonal format (30) is dynamically selectable via the control group of notes and also actuatable via the melody group of notes. In this manner, a melody is producible via the first tonal format (28) with a dynamic backing track producible via the second tonal format (30), all using one guitar (22).

MUSIC GENERATION METHOD AND APPARATUS, DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND PROGRAM

A method for generating music and apparatus, a device, an electronic device, a computer readable storage medium, a computer program product, and a computer program. The method comprises: acquiring a first video of first user captured within a preset duration; determining, action information of a first action performed by the first user within the preset duration according to the first video, the action information comprising an action type and a duration of action; and then generating, according to the action information of the first action, target music corresponding to the preset duration. By means of the process, a user can interact with a terminal device by performing a series of actions to achieve music creation, which improves the interactivity and fun of the music creation process, thereby improving user experience.

Enhanced user interfaces for virtual instruments

Embodiments of the present disclosure can provide systems, methods, and computer-readable medium for implementing user interfaces and user interface elements for interacting with a virtual instrument. For example, a user interface for a virtual instrument may be presented on a display of a device. The user interface may have any suitable number of strings having a first spacing. Each string may correspond to an associated audio file. User mode input may be received at the user interface. In response to receiving the user mode input, a user interface element (e.g., a corresponding enhanced selection area) may be presented. The presented user interface element may include a subset of the plurality of strings and may have a second spacing that is greater than the first spacing. By utilizing the user interface element, a user is enabled to make more accurate input than conventional techniques allow.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANALYSIS AND CREATION OF MUSIC
20180144730 · 2018-05-24 ·

A method and system for analyzing patterns in the relationships of notes of an input piece of music. The method comprises generating a set of the most frequently occurring note pitches in ascending pitch order that matches an interval pattern, and detecting out-of-key pitches that lie outside of this internal pattern. One or more potential key sequence bifurcations are identified which represent a list of possible key sequences according to forwards and backwards analysis. By finding patterns of repetition in the chordal sequences that may be generated according to these key sequence bifurcations, a key sequence that allows the most frequently recurring chord sequences may be chosen. Chord sequences may be analyzed by using ghost chords, temporary harmonic structures that are created, updated and finalized over time according to a combination of essential and inessential note fragments. The method further comprises identifying non-harmony pitches according to the analyzed chord sequence.
