Musical activity system

A system providing a music service platform includes a music controller device, a client device, and a server. The music controller device receives musical data indicative of a music performance by an individual and generates metadata characterizing the musical data. The client device includes a software application that receives the musical data and the metadata from the music controller device and presents a graphical user interface for display on the client device. The graphical user interface includes information related to the musical data and the metadata. The server receives the musical data and the metadata, generates one or more analytics associated with the musical data, and performs one or more data aggregation techniques on the musical data.

A method and system for processing an audio stem/loop, including dividing a stem into a plurality of stem slices, classifying each of the plurality of stem slices into at least a first group or a second group and applying a stem effect, that includes replacing at least one stem slice with an all-zero stem slice, replacing at least one stem slice belonging to the first group or the second group with a stem slice belonging to the first group or the second group.

Generative composition with texture groups

A computer-implemented method of generating a musical composition containing a plurality of musical texture groups is disclosed. The method includes assembling musical texture groups from musical instrument components and associating therewith a tag expressing emotional textural connotation. The instrument components have musical textural classifiers selected from a set of pre-defined textural classifiers such that different instrument components may have a different subset of pre-defined textural classifiers. The textural classifiers within a texture group possess either no musical feature attribute or a single musical feature attribute and any number of musical accompaniment attributes. The method then generates at least one chord scheme to a narrative brief, to provide an emotional connotation to a series of events, the chord scheme generated by selecting and assembling Form Atoms. The final step includes applying a texture to the chord scheme to generate the musical composition reflecting the narrative brief.

FORM ATOM HEURISTICS AND GENERATIVE COMPOSITION

A Form Atom defined by self-contained constructional properties representing a historical corpus of music and contained within metadata of the Form Atom is disclosed. The Form Atom has a generative set of heuristics to support generation of a set of chords in a chord scheme or many different sets of chords. The generated chords are spaced out within a defined window of musical time by chord spacer heuristics. The Form Atom has a tag describing its compositional heuristics. A chord list of the Form Atom is provided in local tonic and defines branching structures that may be used for the generation of different chords from the local tonic. A progression descriptor is combined with a form function such that the Form Atom expresses musically a question, an answer and a statement. A meta-map of a chord scheme for a musical section is created from the metadata.

GENERATIVE COMPOSITION USING FORM ATOM HEURISTICS

A processor-based method of producing a generative musical composition is disclosed herein. The method includes the step of receiving a briefing narrative which describes a musical journey by referencing a plurality of emotional descriptions related to a plurality of musical sections. The generative musical composition is assembled with regard to the briefing narrative through the selection and concatenation of Form Atoms with tags that align with the emotional descriptions related to the musical sections. The Form Atoms, which have compositional nature aligned with the emotional descriptions and self-contained constructional properties representative of the historical corpus of music, are then selected and substituted into the generative composition. The method further involves the step of generating the musical composition by mapping musical transition between selectively chosen Form Atoms to reflect pre-established transitions between Form Atoms and groups Form Atoms that have been identified to have similar tags but different constructional properties.

SERVER SIDE CROSSFADING FOR PROGRESSIVE DOWNLOAD MEDIA
20230011998 · 2023-01-12 ·

In exemplary embodiments of the present invention systems and methods are provided to implement and facilitate cross-fading, interstitials and other effects/processing of two or more media elements in a personalized media delivery service so that each client or user has a consistent high quality experience. The effects or crossfade processing can occur on the broadcast, publisher or server-side, but can still be personalized to a specific user, thus still allowing a personalized experience for each individual user, in a manner where the processing burden is minimized on the downstream side or client device. This approach enables a consistent user experience, independent of client device capabilities, both static and dynamic. The cross-fade can be implemented after decoding the relevant chunks of each component clip, processing, recoding and rechunking, or, in a preferred embodiment, the cross-fade or other effect can be implemented on the relevant chunks to the effect in the compressed domain, thus obviating any loss of quality by re-encoding. A large scale personalized content delivery service can be implemented by limiting the processing to essentially the first and last chunks of any file, since there is no need to processing the full clip. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention this type of processing can easily be accommodated in cloud computing technology, where the first and last files may be conveniently extracted and processed within the cloud to meet the required load. Processing may also be done locally, for example, by the broadcaster, with sufficient processing power to manage peak load.

APPROACH TO AUTOMATIC MUSIC REMIX BASED ON STYLE TEMPLATES

In examples, a method for generating a remixed audio sample is provided. The method may include receiving an audio portion, obtaining metadata from the received audio portion, and analyzing the metadata and generating a symbolic music representation based on the analyzed metadata. In some examples, a selection of a style asset is received and applied to the symbolic music representation. Accordingly, a remixed audio portion may be rendered based on the stylized symbolic representation. That is, metadata associated with a song or song portion may be analyzed to identify a tempo, key, structure, chord, and/or progressions, etc., such that a remixed version of the song can be provided with customized instrumental arrangements and styles.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPLEMENTING EFFICIENT CROSS-FADING BETWEEN COMPRESSED AUDIO STREAMS
20220328051 · 2022-10-13 ·

Systems and methods are presented for efficient cross-fading of compressed domain information streams on a user/client device. Exemplary systems may provide cross-fade between AAC/Enhanced AAC Plus information streams, between MP3 information streams, or between information streams of unmatched formats. These systems are distinguished in that cross-fade is directly applied to compressed bitstreams so a single decode operation is performed on the resulting bitstream. Thus, a set of frames from each input stream associated with the time interval in which a cross fade is decoded, and combined and recoded with a cross fade or other effect now in the compressed bitstream. Once sent through the client device's decoder, the user hears the transitional effect. The only input data that is decoded and processed is that associated with the portion of each stream used the crossfade, blend or other interstitial, and thus the vast majority of input streams are left compressed.

Transitions between media content items

A system of playing media content items determines transitions between pairs of media content items by determining desirable locations in which transitions across the pairs of media content items occur. The system uses a plurality of track features of media content items and determines such track features of each media content item associated with each of transition point candidates, such as beat positions, of that media content item. The system determines similarity in the plurality of track features between the transition point candidates of a first media content item and the transition point candidates for a second media content item being played subsequent to the first media content item. The transition points or portions of the first and second media content items are selected from the transition point candidates for the first and second media content items based on the similarity results.
