Acoustic transducer including a modified membrane
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus related to acoustic transducers.
Input device
An input device includes an operation panel member with an operation surface; a support member contacting a side face of the operation panel member to support the operation panel member, the side face being perpendicular to the operation surface of the operation panel member; and an actuator configured to vibrate the support member in a direction parallel to the operation surface. The support member contacts the operation panel member only at the side face, and the operation panel member vibrates in a direction parallel to the operation surface by transmission of a vibration of the support member from the side face to the operation panel member.
Display apparatus
A display apparatus includes a display unit including a display panel configured to display an image, a curvature variation unit disposed on a rear surface of the display unit and varying a curvature of the display unit, and a vibration unit disposed on the rear surface of the display unit configured to vibrate the display panel.

ELECTRONIC HORN DEVICE AND METHOD
An electronic horn device may include a horn module, one or more amplifiers, and a controller operably connected to the horn module via the one or more amplifiers. The horn module may be mounted onboard a vehicle. The horn module includes plural compression drivers and a horn body. The horn body includes a bell segment and plural branch segments fluidly connected to the bell segment. The compression drivers are respectively mounted to respective ends of the branch segments of the horn body. The one or more amplifiers are operably connected to the compression drivers of the horn module. The controller is configured to control the compression drivers to generate a horn sound that is emitted from the bell segment of the horn body in response to receipt of a first control signal.

CONVERSATION ASSISTING APPARATUS, CONVERSATION ASSISTING METHOD, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
A conversation assisting method of the present invention is performed in a first space in order to transmit an acoustic signal between the first space and a second space, separated by an isolation object, by using the isolation object. In the conversation assisting method of the present invention, a sound to be transmitted to the second space is emitted from the first space side to the isolation object at a predetermined intensity. Further, in the conversation assisting method of the present invention, a sound transmitted through the isolation object is picked up, and from the picked-up sound, a sound except for the emitted sound is emphasized and output.
Class VIII Flextensional Transducers and Method of Assembly
A semi-wave transducer is provided that comprises a circular or elliptic transduction shell that has sidewalls captured between identical opposing upper and lower circular or elliptic conical segments (platens), each having a surface geometry of a radially symmetric wave shape that includes a center region and a rim wherein the distance between the center region of the upper and lower platens greater than the distance between the rims of the upper and lower platens. In some embodiments, the surface geometry of the platens may be a jinc function or a recurve function.
