AUDIO SYSTEM FOR SPATIALIZING VIRTUAL SOUND SOURCES
An audio system for spatializing virtual sound sources is described. A microphone array of the audio system is configured to monitor sound in a local area. A controller of the audio system identifies sound sources within the local area using the monitored sound from the microphone array and determines their locations. The controller of the audio system generates a target position for a virtual sound source based on one or more constraints. The one or more constraints include that the target position be at least a threshold distance away from each of the determined locations of the identified sound sources. The controller generates one or more sound filters based in part on the target position to spatialize the virtual sound source. A transducer array of the audio system presents spatialized audio including the virtual sound source content based in part on the one or more sound filters.

Method and apparatus obtain information about a patient and/or a respiratory therapy system that is configured to deliver respiratory therapy to the patient. The respiratory therapy system may include a flow generator configured to generate a supply of pressurized air along an air circuit to a patient interface. A sound signal representing a sound in the air circuit may be processed to obtain cepstrum data. A time series of delay estimates based on acoustic signatures of the cepstrum data may be generated. Each acoustic signature may represent a reflection of sound from a patient interface along the air circuit. Variation in the time series of delay estimates may be analysed. One or more output indicators based on the variation may be generated. The one or more output indicators may concern patient and/or system status.
Customized sound field for increased privacy
An audio system for customizing sound fields for increased user privacy. A microphone array of a headset detects sounds from one or more sound sources in a local area of the headset. The audio system estimates array transfer functions (ATFs) associated with the sounds, and determines determining sound field reproduction filters for a loudspeaker array of the headset using the ATFs. The audio system presents audio content, via the loudspeaker array, based in part on the sound field reproduction filters. The presented audio content has a sound field that has a reduced amplitude in a first damped region of the local area that includes a first sound source of the one or more sound sources.

An aircraft emergency control system comprises at least one sensor configured to output an electronic signal relating to detection of incapacitation of at least one aircraft crew member. A processor is configured to receive and process the electronic signal to determine whether emergency action is to be taken. A control unit is configured to communicate, in use, a control signal to an avionics system of the aircraft in relation to the emergency action if the processor determines that emergency action is to be taken.
