A depilating device (5) comprises a depilating body (10) which is rotatable about a rotation axis (R) extending in a longitudinal direction (L) with respect to the depilating body (10), an actuating mechanism (30) configured to act on the depilating body (10) so as to cause compression and extension of the depilating body (10) in the longitudinal direction (L) during rotational movement of the depilating body (10) about the rotation axis (R), and a driving mechanism (20) configured to drive the depilating body (10) and to also drive the actuating mechanism (30). The actuating mechanism (30) is connected to a drive shaft (21) of the driving mechanism (20) in a resilient fashion, such as through at least one leaf spring (51), which contributes to minimizing friction and noise in the depilating device (5), and which may also support one of compression and extension of the depilating body (10).

Epilator with exposed tweezer portion

An epilating device removes hair from a user by pinching, pulling and releasing the hairs. The epilating device has a tweezer portion having an axis and being mounted to rotate about its axis during use, the tweezer portion defining at least one pinching region at its circumference in which hairs may be grasped by tweezer elements. The tweezer portion is mounted in cantilevered fashion by its first end to an attachment portion of a handle. The cantilever arrangement of the tweezer portion allows better access to the tweezer elements, in particular for epilating in areas that may otherwise be difficult to reach.

Improving hair-clamping performance of a pair of hair-clamping elements

A head unit of a depilation appliance comprises at least one pair (11) of hair-clamping elements (12, 13), wherein the hair-clamping elements (12, 13) have tweezer surfaces (14, 15) which are arranged to face each other, and which are movable towards and away from each other in their entirety so as to be movable into and out of contact to each other. In order to achieve improved hair-clamping performance of the at least one pair (11) of hair-clamping elements (12, 13), the tweezer surfaces (14, 15) are further configured to move into alignment with each other in the process of getting into contact to each other, wherein the entirety of the tweezer surface (14) of one (12) of the hair-clamping elements (12, 13) is tillable relative to a support (17) that is included in the respective hair-clamping element (12).

A skin treatment system (1) such as a depilating system comprises a functional member (20) that is configured to perform a treatment action on skin (2) and to be moved over the skin (2) during operation of the system (1), and a measurement unit (40) including a measurement member (41) that is configured to also be moved over the skin (2) during operation of the functional member (20) and to contact the skin (2) in the process. The measurement unit (40) is configured to measure at least a force value in an advancing direction in which the measurement member (41) is moved over the skin (2) during operation of the functional member (20). The measured force value in the advancing direction is used for the purpose of determining a friction coefficient value representative of the friction coefficient of the skin (2), which allows for assessing skin condition.
