Repositioning using cut and paste segments
Repositioning to a beginning of an area of a tape medium to which a reposition request is directed can be completed. Reading, as a part of an error recovery procedure (ERP), between a first dataset of the area and an m.sup.th dataset of the area, can be completed, where m is a number of datasets for which cut and paste multi segments are to be generated. Cut and paste segments for each of the datasets in a range from the first dataset and the m.sup.th dataset can be generated. A subset of datasets within the range of the first dataset to the m.sup.th dataset having readable dataset information table (DSIT) information can be determined. A determination can be made whether the target data position is included within the subset of datasets within the range of the first dataset to the m.sup.th dataset by reading the DSIT information.

Method and device for video enhancement, and electronic device using the same
A method and a device for video enhancement, and an electronic device are provided, in accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure. In the method, a current brightness of a display panel of the electronic device is obtained when a video is playing in the display panel. The current brightness may be compared with a target brightness, and a comparing result is obtained. An effect of video enhancement, which configured to be applied to the video, is determined according to the comparing result. The video is processed according to a video enhancement corresponding to the effect of video enhancement. Therefore, in the process of the video enhancement for the electronic device while playing video, the video may be displayed with extremely clear images and may have an extremely clear visual effect.
Editing apparatus and editing method
An editing apparatus for an editing video sequence that includes an editing unit for setting a first range to one part of the video sequence; a video sequence file generating unit for generating a video sequence file including video sequence corresponding to the first range and video sequence corresponding to a second range, within the second range is consecutively preceding to and/or subsequent to the first range; and an output for outputting the video sequence file.
Multi-spool tape recording apparatus
An apparatus, in accordance with one approach, includes a receiving area configured to receive a plurality of tape spool pairs. A drive mechanism is configured to selectively drive the tape spool pairs. A magnetic head configured to perform data operations on magnetic recording tapes of the tape spool pairs is also present. A positioning mechanism is configured to selectively align the magnetic head to a selected one of the tape spool pairs. An engagement mechanism is configured to create a relative movement between the magnetic head and the magnetic recording tape of the selected tape spool pair for engaging the magnetic recording tape with the magnetic head.
Multichannel tape head module having thermoelectric devices for controlling span between transducers
An apparatus, according to one embodiment, includes a module having an array of transducers, and a thermoelectric cooling element positioned proximate to the array of transducers. An apparatus, according to one embodiment, includes a module having an array of transducers, a thermoelectric cooling element positioned proximate to the array of transducers, and a heating element positioned proximate to the array of transducers. A method of maintaining a span of an array of transducers of module to a specification, according to one embodiment, includes determining whether the span of the array of transducers in a module is different than a target based on a specification. In response to determining the span is greater than the target, a control signal is applied to a thermoelectric cooling element positioned proximate to the span of the array of transducers for contracting the span of the array of transducers toward the target.
Dual drive tape embedded system
A storage system can include a first tape storage drive (TSD), a second TSD, and a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) where the first and second TSD are coupled back-to-back, with the PCBA between the two. The first TSD can include a first enclosure, a first head assembly, a first actuator, and a first connector. The second TSD can include a second enclosure, a second head assembly, a second actuator, and a second connector. The PCBA can include a first side having a first mating connector configured to connect to the first connector for the first TSD, a second side opposite the first side, the second side having a second mating connector configured to connect to the second connector for the second TSD, and a controller configured to control activation of the first actuator of the first TSD and the second actuator of the second TSD.
