Disk pick-and-place device and operating method thereof
A disc pick-and-place device including a disc pick-and-place body and a quantity sensing unit is provided. The disc pick-and-place body is for clamping and unloading at least one disc. The quantity sensing unit is disposed on the disc pick-and-place body for sensing the quantity of the at least one disc clamped on the disc pick-and-place body. The quantity sensing unit includes a movable piece and an optical distance measuring device. The movable piece leans on at least one disc and moves as the quantity of the at least one disc changes. The optical distance measuring device is for emitting a beam and receiving the beam reflected from the movable piece to detect the quantity of the at least one disc.
Disk drive having multiple disks accessible by a reduced number of read/write heads
A disk drive including multiple magnetic recording disks and at least one read/write head, wherein the disk drive includes a rotatable center block having a vertical axis and a mounting member, a first motor attached to the center block for rotating the center block about the vertical axis, a vertical threaded rod positioned in the mounting member, a second motor moveable along the vertical threaded rod, at least one head suspension arm extending outwardly from the second motor, and at least one read/write head mounted to a distal end of one of the arms. The disk drive further includes multiple disks in a stack, wherein at least one of the arms is vertically moveable along the vertical threaded rod by the second motor to position the at least one read/write head in a position to access data on one of the disk surfaces of the plurality of disks.
Optical disk drive guide
A method and apparatus is provided to enable loading and/or unloading of a storage drive. The body has a first end, a second end, and a path extending from the first end to the second end. The body is configured to receive the computer readable storage device and maintain the computer readable storage device in a first position. The body is configured to passively change orientation from a first orientation to a second orientation responsive to contact from the computer readable storage device. The first orientation maintains the first position of the computer readable storage drive and the second orientation facilitates traversal of the computer readable storage device along the path.
Glass spacer and hard disk drive device
A ring-shaped glass spacer is to be arranged in contact with a magnetic disk in a hard disk drive device. A film that contains at least one of tin oxide, zinc oxide, and titanium oxide is formed on each surface of a main surface, and an outer circumferential edge surface, and an inner circumferential edge surface of the glass spacer. The thickness of the film on a center portion of the outer circumferential edge surface of the glass spacer is larger than the thickness of the film on a center portion of the inner circumferential edge surface of the glass spacer.
OPTICAL DISK LIBRARY DEVICE AND SCISSOR-TYPE CONVEYING DEVICE
The scissor-type conveying device moves vertically in an optical disk library device and includes a scissor-type conveying device including a slave table including a first driving mechanism used for horizontal movement of an optical-disk handling section that handles optical disks, a base table including a second driving mechanism for lifting and lowering movement, a link mechanism including a plurality of scissors links that couple the slave table and the base table and pins that combine crossing points of the scissors links crossing in an X shape, an opening and closing action of the scissors links being realized by the second driving mechanism, and a movable fixing mechanism that fixes the slave table and the base table to inner wall surfaces defining moving spaces of the slave table and the base table or releases the slave table and the base table from a fixed state to the inner wall surfaces.

System for selection and playback of song versions from vinyl type control interfaces
A system for processing digital audio signals. The system includes a digital audio unit configured to provide digital audio data of a first audio track and a second audio track. The first audio track and a second audio track represent different versions of the same piece of music. The system also includes a user control device operable by a user to allow the user to select either a first region or a second region. The digital audio unit is configured to play back audio signals obtained from the first audio track when the first region is selected, and to play back audio signals obtained from the second audio track when the second region is selected.
Hard disk device
According to one embodiment, a disk device includes magnetic disks, a spindle motor, and a housing. The magnetic disks are arranged in an axial direction. The spindle motor rotates the magnetic disks about a first rotation axis extending in the axial direction. The housing includes a first wall, an inner surface of the first wall, an outer surface of the first wall, and a second wall. The spindle motor is attached to the first wall.
