Playback modification based on proximity
Techniques described herein may involve modification of playback based on the proximity of a user to a playback device. An example technique involves a device determining that a listener is within a given proximity of a first playback device and based on determining that the listener is within the given proximity of the first playback device, causing the first playback device to begin playback of first media and causing a second playback device to modify playback of second media.
Systems and methods for networked music playback
An example zone player is configured to play back a first media item identified in a remote playback queue provided by a computing system that is communicatively coupled to the zone player via at least a cloud-based network. The zone player is also configured to, while playing back the first media item, transmit a first indication that the zone player is ready for a next one or more media items identified in the remote playback queue and, after transmitting the first indication, (i) receive, from the computing system, data for retrieving at least a second media item identified in the remote playback queue from a cloud-based media service, and (ii) use the data for retrieving the second media item to retrieve the second media item from the cloud-based media service. The zone player is also configured to transition from playing back the first media item to playing back the second media item.
Amplifier selection device, amplifier selection method, and computer-readable storage medium having power source capacity display function
An amplifier selection device includes: a storage means for storing a database containing information pertaining to motor models, amplifier capacities and feature amounts; a means that obtain information of motor models necessary to configure a desired system; a means that calculate a number of necessary amplifiers; a means that select spindle amplifiers; a means that create a combination of servo amplifiers for each spindle amplifier; a means that extract information pertaining to the feature amounts by referring to the database; a means that determine a combination on a basis of the information pertaining to the feature amounts; a power source capacity calculation means that calculate capacities of a main power source and a control power source by referring to the database; and a display control means that display the combination of amplifiers along with the main power source and control power source capacities.

Image processing apparatus, method of controlling the same, and storage medium
The CPU of an image processing apparatus (MFP), when the MFP shifts to a first sleep mode, sets a time until, in the first sleep mode, the storage device stops rotation of a spindle motor to shift to a power saving mode. The CPU controls the storage device to shift to the power saving state at a timing at which the set time has elapsed after the MFP shifts to the first sleep mode.

Video capture with privacy safeguard
A method to record video with a video camera while respecting bystander privacy includes acquiring sensory data separate from the video, parsing the sensory data for evidence of a human being in a field of view of the video camera, and recording video with the video camera if no human being is detected in the field of view, based upon the sensory data.

Recording head gimbal assembly programming by selective application of interconnects
A method for programming a head gimbal assembly. The method includes building a plurality of transducers into a slider, and testing the plurality of transducers to select one of the plurality of transducers for field operation. The method also includes providing an interconnect assembly having a plurality of traces with at least one of the plurality of traces having a plurality of electrically coupled bond pads. One of the plurality of bond pads is bonded electrically to the selected transducer out of the plurality of transducers, and the other bond pads of the plurality of bond pads are not electrically coupled to any of the plurality of transducers.
Location based playback system control
Example implementations may involve using a prompt to prevent inadvertent control or playback of audio content. When a mobile device receives input data indicating a command to play back audio content on a first playback device, the mobile device determines whether the mobile device is in proximity to the first playback device. If the mobile device determines that the mobile device within a given proximity to the first playback device, the mobile device transmits, via the network interface, one or more commands to instruct the first playback device to play back the audio content. However, if the mobile device determines that the mobile device outside the proximity, the mobile device displays a prompt indicating that the mobile device is the outside the given proximity to the first playback device and a selectable control that, when selected, transmits the one or more commands to play back the audio content.
