An attention position detection section detects an attention position of a user to a reproduction image of moving image data. Image-related information indicating a position of a virtual division area in which the reproduction image is virtually divided and an importance level of the virtual division area is associated with the moving image data. A reproduction control section determines the importance level of the virtual division area corresponding to the attention position detected by the attention position detection section and controls a reproduction operation of the moving image data in accordance with the determined importance level. For example, the reproduction control section sets a larger number of images to be thinned in the reproduction operation as the importance level becomes lower so as to make the reproduction speed faster. The user can control the reproduction operation only by moving the attention position and easily perform the appropriate reproduction operation.

In various embodiments, an iterative encoding application encodes a source video sequence. The encoding optimization application generates a set of shot encode points based on a set of encoding points and a first shot sequence included in the source video sequence. Each shot encode point is associated with a different encoded shot sequence. The encoding optimization application performs convex hull operation(s) across the set of shot encode points to generate a first convex hull associated with the first shot sequence. Subsequently, the encoding optimization application generates encoded video sequences based on the first convex hull and a second convex hull associated with a second shot sequence included in the source video sequence. The encoding optimization application computes a new encoding point based on the encoded video sequences and a target value for a first video metric and then generates an optimized encoded video sequence based on the new encoding point.

By increasing capacity of a branch node, optimization in a horizontal direction can be performed to the MPT tree of Ethereum state data; by compressing the height of the MPT tree of the Ethereum state data on a single prefix path, optimization in a vertical direction can be performed to the MPT tree of the Ethereum state data; and by selecting and arranging different key lengths according to a data type, layers of the MPT tree can be effectively reduced, so that the purpose of reducing the number of times of disk io can be achieved.

The present disclosure describes aspects of codeword interleaving for magnetic storage media. In some aspects, segments of a codeword are spread or interleaved across multiple sectors of magnetic storage media. Data for one or more codewords may be received by a read channel and, for each codeword, a respective indicator is selected or received. The indicator may indicate which partitions of the multiple sectors that segments of one of the codewords are to be written. The data is then encoded to provide the codewords and segments of the codewords are placed in an interleaver based on the respective indicator corresponding to the codeword. The codeword segments are written from the interleaver to partitions of the multiple sectors of the magnetic storage media. By so doing, codewords may be spread across multiple sectors, such that a loss of a few sectors does not prevent readback and decoding of the codewords.

For each of the key frame location(s), the encoding optimization application configures an encoding application to encode a frame of video content located at the key frame location as a key frame when performing encoding operations. Subsequently, the encoding optimization application causes the encoding application to perform encoding operation(s) on the source video sequence to generate a first encoded video sequence. During playback, the media title is switchable between a decoded version of the first encoded video sequence and a decoded version of a second encoded video sequence at the key frame location(s).

A device for recording videos includes an image signal processor to process frames captured in response to a request for recording a video at a first frame rate, and a video encoder to encode captured frames. The device also includes processing circuitry operative to allocate image buffers from memory in response to the request, and execute a camera software to direct the image signal processor to fill each image buffer with a batch of the captured frames. For each filled image buffer, a reference of the image buffer is passed from the camera software to a video software at a second rate, which is a fraction of the first frame rate. The processing circuitry then executes the video software to provide one frame at a time to the video encoder for encoding at the first frame rate.

A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a computer system for reordering a sequence of files based on compression rates in data transfer. A host determines predicted compression rates of first files that are to be saved onto a first tape, based on a relationship between compression rates and file attributes of second files that have been saved on a second tape. The host reorders a sequence of the first files stored in host cache storage and generates a new sequence of transferring the first files from the host cache storage to the tape drive hosting the first tape, based on the predicted compression rates of the first files. The host transfers the first files to the tape drive hosting the first tape and writes the first files to the first tape, according to the new sequence.
