Method and system for video processing and signaling in transitional video scene
10636451 · 2020-04-28 · ·

Aspects of encoding and decoding video content are provided. An encoding system detects a scene change by identifying a first picture among a sequence of pictures that corresponds to a last picture of a first scene, identifying a second picture among the sequence of pictures that corresponds to a first picture of a second scene, and determining that one or more pictures that are between the first picture and the second picture in the sequence of pictures correspond to an input transition scene between the first scene and the second scene. The encoded video content indicates an existence of the input transition scene and information for reproducing a transition scene. A decoding system generates the transition scene that corresponds to the input transition scene based on the received indication of the existence of the input transition scene and the information for reproducing the transition scene.

A series of frames forming the moving image includes intra-frame predictive frames, inter-frame predictive frames, and a non-reference frame at predetermined intervals. A still image corresponding to a next non-reference frame is encoded when a waiting period from an instruction point in time at which a still image is instructed to be captured to the next non-reference frame is equal to or less than a predetermined time. An image of a current frame at the instruction point in time as a non-reference frame is encoded, and a still image corresponding to the current frame is encoded when the waiting period exceeds the predetermined time.

Provided is a reproduction apparatus and an information processing method which enable graphics to be superimposed on a video to be converted appropriately. In a format of contents to be reproduced by a reproduction apparatus according to an aspect of the present technology, each of a configuration of a video plane which is a storage area of data before a video that constitutes an output image is synthesized and a configuration of a graphics plane which is a storage area of data before a graphics that constitutes the output image is synthesized is represented by attributes of a resolution, a color gamut, a color depth, and a dynamic range conversion function. Moreover, a plurality of combinations of attributes representing the configuration of the video plane and attributes representing the configuration of the graphics plane are determined in advance.

A system to perform processing operations of input (video) streams, including is disclosed. The system consists of an input module, a stream type detection engine, a plurality of processing resources a resource monitoring engine, an attribution module, a dispatching module, and various other optional interface modules.

ENCODING AND DECODING SELECTIVELY RETRIEVABLE REPRESENTATIONS OF VIDEO CONTENT
20200021829 · 2020-01-16 ·

A system and method disposed to enable encoding, decoding and manipulation of digital video with substantially less processing load than would otherwise required. In particular, one disclosed method is directed to generating a compressed video data structure that is selectively decodable to a plurality of resolutions including the full resolution of the uncompressed stream. The desired number of data components and the content of the data components that make up the compressed video data, which determine the available video resolutions, are variable based upon the processing carried out and the resources available to decode and process the data components. During decoding, efficiency is substantially improved because only the data components necessary to generate a desired resolution are decoded. In variations, both temporal and spatial decoding are utilized to reduce frame rates, and hence, further reduce processor load. The system and method are particularly useful for real-time video editing applications.

Recording medium, reproducing apparatus, and reproducing method

In a recording medium on which is recorded a multiplexed stream including a plurality of first packets (V_main) constituting a first I-picture in a first video stream and a plurality of second packets (V_sub) constituting a second I-picture in a second video stream, information for identifying the first I-picture and information for identifying the second I-picture are recorded on the medium. A recording medium can thereby be obtained that enables the rapid detection, from a small amount of information, of a particular picture included in a stream such as a TS in which multiple content streams are multiplexed.

Pulse code modulation (PCM) data-marking

An encoding for data in an audio data stream may be indicated in the data stream using a footer stored in low-order bits of data frames in the audio data stream. When the audio data stream may include either Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) or Direct Stream Digital (DSD) data, PCM data may be marked with a footer to indicate the encoding as PCM. The footer may be a fixed value, an alternating fixed value, a predetermined sequence of values, or a value computed based on the PCM data. Examples of computed values for the footer marker may include an error code, an error correction code (ECC), and a scrambled code.

Data storage device and method for auto-peeling of surveillance video content to increase archival storage

A data storage device and method for auto-peeling of surveillance video content to increase archival storage is provided. In one embodiment, a data storage device is provided comprising a memory and a controller. The controller is configured to determine that available storage space in the memory is less than a threshold; in response to determining that the available storage space in the memory is less than the threshold: read a video file from the memory; and re-encode the video file to decrease a size of the video file, wherein re-encoding the video file increases available storage space in the memory without deleting the video file. Other embodiments are provided.

Method and apparatus of editing multimedia file, electronic device, and storage medium

The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus of editing a multimedia file, an electronic device, and a storage medium. The method includes: acquiring a multimedia file and an operation information contained in each editing track of a plurality of editing tracks, wherein the operation information is acquired to edit the multimedia file; detecting a multimedia file frame contained in the each editing track at a current time in a case of editing the multimedia file in a chronological order; editing the multimedia file frame contained in the each editing track at the current time by using the operation information associated with the multimedia file frame, so as to obtain an edited file frame contained in the each editing track at the current time; and performing an encoding synthesis on the edited file frame contained in the each editing track at the current time.

A test and measurement instrument includes an acquisition memory and a processor structured to store a stream of sampled incoming data samples in the acquisition memory. As the memory fills, the instrument automatically decimates either the data samples already stored in the acquisition memory, the incoming data samples, or both. The instrument may also store two copies of the incoming data samples, one at an increased decimation rate. The two copies are tied together with a timestamp or using other methods. The more highly decimated copy may be used to produce a video output of the stored data samples, saving the instrument from generating the video output from the larger sized sample.
