Content individualization

Content individualization, including: encrypting a first part of a source data set using a first key creating a first encrypted data set; encrypting a second part of the source data set using a second key creating a second encrypted data set; encrypting the second part of the source data set using a third key creating a third encrypted data set; and combining the first encrypted data set, the second encrypted data set, and the third encrypted data set to form a final encrypted data set. Key words include watermarking and content individualization.

Image sensor, image pickup apparatus, image sensor-identifying method, image forgery-preventing method, and image alternation-limiting method

To provide an image sensor capable of guaranteeing consistency between acquired image information and picked-up image information. An image sensor 30 includes an image information processing unit 4 that forms integrated information in which image sensor identification information capable of identifying the image sensor 30 and image information obtained by an analog/digital conversion unit 25 are associated with each other, and an image information output unit 24 that outputs the integrated information to an external unit.

System And Method For Transferring Playlists
20200250219 · 2020-08-06 ·

A method, computer program product and computing device for selecting at least one playlist for transfer, the at least one playlist being stored on a first personal media device. The at least one playlist is converted to a common format, thus generating a first common format playlist. Communication is established with a second personal media device. The first common format playlist is transferred to the second personal media device.

REDUCING TIME TO FIRST ENCRYPTED FRAME IN A CONTENT STREAM
20200236408 · 2020-07-23 ·

Techniques are described for reducing time to decrypt a next encrypted frame in a content stream by optimizing a license/key acquisition process. When requesting content, a key identifier and/or license identifier may be included within a webpage using a link, script, or similar access point. When a client device sends a request for content, the loading of the webpage within the client device includes the embedded key identifier. Access to the key/license identifier at the client device then may initiate a key/license acquisition process by the client device. The key/license may be obtained from a key management device in parallel with, or prior to, downloading of at least a portion of the content stream.

A configuration in which usage control that is substantially similar to content usage control in a copy source medium can be performed in a content copy destination is implemented. A data processing unit that performs a copy process of recording data recorded on a first medium on a second medium records encrypted content in the first medium on the second medium, without decrypting the encrypted content. In addition, the data processing unit converts a CPS unit key file recorded on the first medium to generate a converted CPS unit key file and records the converted CPS unit key file on the second medium. Further, the data processing unit acquires an MKB not requiring KCD, which is capable of directly calculating a media key using only a device key, without using key conversion data (KCD) recorded on the first medium, from a server and records the MKB not requiring KCD on the second medium.

Video jukebox apparatus and a method of playing music and music videos using a video jukebox apparatus

A digital jukebox (14) allows for playback of a first offering and a second offering. The contents of each offering are individually licensed for public performance at a particular location where the jukebox is found. The jukebox (14) displays advertisements that are selected in response to user interaction with the jukebox or a number of other factors. The jukebox (14) features a screen (18 and 20) that allows user to interact with the jukebox to select offerings, but also to respond to advertising. Jukebox can function in cooperation with a server (12), but in the alternate, can function as an independent and stand-alone device when connection (16) to server (12) is not available.

Information processing device and method of data reproduction

A virtual file system (VFS) is constructed by reliably acquiring subsequent data corresponding to an information recording medium from a local storage unit, and thus, data reproduction is executed. A data processing unit executes processing of selecting data associated with the information recording medium from the local storage unit, as reproduction target data, executes directory name calculation processing in which a conversion function corresponding to a version of the information recording medium is applied to configuration data of a root certificate recorded in the information recording medium, at the time of performing the processing of selecting the reproduction target data, and selects data which is recorded in a directory having a calculated directory name from the local storage unit, as the reproduction target data.

Providing an authenticating service of a chip

Embodiments of the present invention provide an authenticating service of a chip having an intrinsic identifier (ID). In a typical embodiment, an authenticating device is provided that includes an identification (ID) engine, a self-test engine, and an intrinsic component. The intrinsic component is associated with a chip and includes an intrinsic feature. The self-test engine retrieves the intrinsic feature and communicates it to the identification engine. The identification engine receives the intrinsic feature, generates a first authentication value using the intrinsic feature, and stores the authentication value in memory. The self-test engine generates a second authentication value using an authentication challenge. The identification engine includes a compare circuitry that compares the first authentication value and the second authentication value and generates an authentication output value based on the results of the compare of the two values.
