SMOKING ARTICLE COMPRISING A FRICTION IGNITABLE COMBUSTIBLE CARBONACEOUS HEAT SOURCE
A smoking article is provided, including a combustible carbonaceous heat source having opposed front and rear end faces; an aerosol-forming substrate downstream of the rear end face of the combustible carbonaceous heat source; an ignitable composition provided on at least a portion of the front end face of the combustible carbonaceous heat source; and one or more airflow pathways along configured to allow air to be drawn through the smoking article for inhalation, the ignitable composition being configured to be ignited by striking the front end face on a frictional surface, and being isolated from the one or more airflow pathways such that air drawn along the one or more airflow pathways does not directly contact the ignitable composition.
Aerosol delivery device with rotatable enclosure for cartridge
The present disclosure is directed to an aerosol delivery device and a holder for use with a removable substrate cartridge. In one implementation, the holder may include a main body having a mouthend and a rotating end portion. The main body may define a receiving compartment configured to receive at least a portion of the cartridge proximate a distal end of the main body. The main body may further define an aerosol passage extending from the receiving portion through the mouthend. The rotating end portion may be configured to rotate to and from an open position, in which the rotating end portion is turned outward so as to provide access to the receiving compartment, and a use position, in which the rotating end portion is turned inward so as to cover the heat source of an inserted cartridge.
Aerosol-generating article comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a heat-conducting element
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including an aerosol-forming substrate including aerosol-forming material and a tobacco-containing wrapper around and in contact with the aerosol-forming material, the wrapper having an aerosol former content of between about 5% and about 30% by weight of the total weight of the wrapper; a combustible heat source upstream of the aerosol-forming substrate; and a heat-conducting element around and in contact with at least a portion of the wrapper.

Non-combusting smoking article with thermochromatic label
A smoking article is disclosed herein. The smoking article includes a shell defining an interior space, a consumable substance within the interior space, a heat source effective to increase the temperature of at least a portion of the shell, and a label attached to at least a portion of the shell. The label includes a base film, a cover film, and a temperature dependent material disposed between the base film and the cover film. The temperature dependent material is configured to transition between a first appearance and a second appearance responsive to the increase of the temperature of at least a portion of the shell.

Smoking article comprising an isolated combustible heat source
A smoking article is provided, including a combustible heat source with opposed front and rear faces; an aerosol-forming substrate downstream of the rear face of the combustible heat source; an outer wrapper circumscribing the aerosol-forming substrate and at least a rear portion of the combustible heat source; and one or more airflow pathways along which air may be drawn through the smoking article for inhalation by a user. The combustible heat source is isolated from the one or more airflow pathways such that air drawn through the smoking article along the one or more airflow pathways does not directly contact the combustible heat source.

CONTROL OF PUFF PROFILE
Heat not burn products comprising an encapsulated aerosol generating agent, the encapsulation having the effect of controlling the release of the agent during use of the heat not burn product. The encapsulation will control the timing of the release of the aerosol generating agent during the use of the heat not burn product, to allow greater control of the puff yield. In the case of some aerosol generating agents, the encapsulation may also increase the stability of the agent and/or prevent its migration within the product.
