MEDICAL DEVICE MESSAGE CODING MANAGEMENT
Techniques for managing encoded communications for medical devices in a clinical environment are provided. Different versions of signal coding libraries are generated for different devices in a communication path. A first signal coding library may be generated using a first signal definition that includes a set of fields. A second signal coding library may be generated using a second signal definition that includes a subset of the fields of the first signal definition, and excludes one or more of the fields of the first signal definition. A message encoded using the first signal coding library may not be completely decodable using the second signal coding library. By selectively deploying the signal coding libraries to different systems, devices, and components in a clinical environment, access to information in message fields can be effectively managed.

INTELLIGENT IMAGE SEGMENTATION PRIOR TO OPTICAL CHARACTER RECOGNITION (OCR)
A medical device monitoring system and method extract information from screen images from medical device controllers, with a single OCR process invocation per screen image, despite critical information appearing in different screen locations, depending on which medical device controller's screen image is processed. For example, different software versions of the medical device controllers might display the same type of information in different screen locations. Copies of the critical screen information, one copy from each different screen location, are made in a mosaic image, and then the mosaic image is OCR processed to produce text results. Text is selectively extracted from the OCR text results, depending on contents of a selector field on the screen image, such as a software version number or a heart pump model identifier.

Disclosed is an automated pill dispenser, which provide a plurality of pill dispensing modules. The plurality of pill dispensing modules may have a first pill dispensing module and a second first pill dispensing module, and the first pill dispensing module has a first dispensing belt that dispenses a first individual pill and the second pill dispensing module having a second dispensing belt dispenses a second individual pill. One or more sensors may be used to monitor operation of the automated pill dispenser for dispensing medication by the plurality of pill dispensing modules. Accessory devices of a medical system, and related methods for communicating leakage state
The present disclosure provides a method, performed in an accessory device, for communicating a leakage state of an ostomy appliance, wherein the accessory device comprises an interface configured to communicate with one or more devices of an ostomy system, the one or more devices comprising a monitor device, and/or the ostomy appliance configured to be placed on a skin surface of a user. The method comprises obtaining monitor data from the one or more devices, the monitor data being indicative of presence of fluid at a proximal side of a first adhesive layer of the ostomy appliance towards the skin surface; determining a leakage state at the proximal side of the first adhesive layer of the ostomy appliance based on the monitor data, and communicating the leakage state of the ostomy appliance via the interface.
Accessory devices of a medical system, and related methods for communicating leakage state
The present disclosure provides a method, performed in an accessory device, for communicating a leakage state of an ostomy appliance, wherein the accessory device comprises an interface configured to communicate with one or more devices of an ostomy system, the one or more devices comprising a monitor device, and/or the ostomy appliance configured to be placed on a skin surface of a user. The method comprises obtaining monitor data from the one or more devices, the monitor data being indicative of presence of fluid at a proximal side of a first adhesive layer of the ostomy appliance towards the skin surface; determining a leakage state at the proximal side of the first adhesive layer of the ostomy appliance based on the monitor data, and communicating the leakage state of the ostomy appliance via the interface.

An apparatus is provided for receiving an indication of a temperature measurement made at a site on a body, the first measurement being of a first type; receiving an indication of an electrical measurement of one or more electrical characteristics made at the site where the temperature measurement was made; determining, based at least in part on the measurement of the one or more electrical characteristics, the site on the body where the temperature measurement was made; associating the measured temperature with the determined site. A method and a computer program product are also provided.
