SYSTEMS AND APPROACHES FOR STERILIZING A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
20200206412 · 2020-07-02 ·

A shielding member for use in sterilizing drug container assemblies includes a housing. The housing includes a first shielding portion and a second shielding portion. The first shielding portion includes a first and second surfaces and a plurality of first bore portions extending between. The second shielding portion having a first and second surfaces and a plurality of second bore portions corresponding to and aligned with the plurality of first bore portions. The first and second bore portions cooperate to form a plurality of receptacles including a plurality of openings in the first surface of the first shielding portion of the housing. The receptacles are sized and configured to receive drug container assemblies, each comprising a container with a container contact region and a seal member disposed adjacent the container contact region to seal the contents of the container at a sealing interface, such that each drug container assembly is exposed out of the housing through one of the openings.

MEDICAL RADIATION ATTENUATION NATURAL RUBBER THIN FILMS, METHODS OF MAKING AND ARTICLES MADE THEREWITH

Medical radiation attenuation thin films, methods of making the same, and articles such as gloves made therefrom, are disclosed. The thin films utilize guayule natural rubber, sulfur and an attenuation filler such as Bi.sub.2O.sub.3. The films mix the guayule natural rubber, sulfur and attenuation filler and cure the mixture at about 80 to about 105 C. for about 40 to about 90 minutes.

Packaging System for Radioactive Waste
20200118700 · 2020-04-16 ·

A method of packaging a radioactive waste including the steps of: (a) providing a containment enclosure having (i) an outer polymeric fabric layer and (ii) an inner polymeric fabric layer, wherein the outer and inner polymeric fabric layers are thermally stable to 40 F.; (b) placing a radioactive waste within the inner polymeric fabric layer; and (c) closing an outer closeable flap on the outer polymeric fabric layer.

Panel assembly having variable transmissivity and structural rigidity

A system that utilizes a very thin arrangement of transparent sub panels containing embedded very small distributed electromagnet wires to control the distribution of very fine magneto-rheological fluid particles suspended in a very thin panel sandwiched between the electromagnet wire panels. The current applied to specific electromagnets may be used to control the amount of electromagnetic energy, such as visible light, that can be transmitted through the panel system. The system may also be used to increase or decrease the rigidity of the multi-panel structure as a function of current applied to the electromagnets.

Radiation protection device and methods thereof

A radiation protection device for providing protection of a body part that includes active bone marrow from ionizing radiation may include a radiation protection component configured to be placed adjacent to and externally cover the body part so as to reduce a radiation dose absorbed in that body part.

Cold sprayed radiation shielding

Radiation shield and methods for manufacturing a radiation shield are provided herein, the method includes identifying a substrate for the radiation shield; identifying at least one material for cold spraying on the substrate; applying by cold spray a coating of the at least one material on the substrate thereby obtaining a radiation shield. The radiation shield is lighter, thinner, and more efficient compared to conventional radiation shields.

RADIATION-SHIELDING MATERIAL

A radiation shielding material that is lighter and has lower installation restrictions than conventional methods, and that exhibits excellent shielding efficiency against radiation in the high energy region. The radiation shielding material comprises a complex containing a fibrous nanocarbon material, a primary radiation shielding particle, and a binder, wherein the fibrous nanocarbon material and the primary radiation shielding particle are dispersed in the binder.
