A device and method for measuring the spacing between adjacent airfoils. A notched member engages a trailing edge of one of the adjacent airfoils with the notched member being rotatable about the one airfoil trailing edge. A wheel is rollable across the surface of the other airfoils while moving in a first direction toward and away from the notched member, and biased away from the notched member. A gauge secured to the notched member measures the distance of the guide from the notched member in the first direction.

Applicant has disclosed a chamfer gage with interchangeable anvil assemblies which can measure the diameter of chamfered holes and the chamfer angle (up to 135). In the preferred embodiment, the chamfer gage comprises: an indicator housing; a compression fitting, attached to the housing, for securing an indicator spindle for movement inside the housing; and an interchangeable anvil assembly, having an anvil body with a depressible anvil or plunger inside, which can be detachably connected to the indicator housing by a threaded thumb ring rotatably mounted on the housing. Another interchangeable anvil assembly can be swapped within thirty seconds to measure the chamfer of a different hole size.

There is provided an inside-diameter measuring unit capable of automating inside-diameter measurement and a control method for automatic inside-diameter measurement. An inside-diameter measuring part is supported by a support frame part via a floating joint part. The floating joint part includes a rotation-allowing mechanism part and a translation-allowing mechanism part. A measuring head part of the inside-diameter measuring part is inserted into a hole by a robot arm part. The inside-diameter measuring part adjusts its position and posture autonomously by the reaction force when a contact point pushes against the inner wall of the hole to align the axis of the inside-diameter measuring part with the axis of the hole. An electric inside-diameter measuring unit can automatically measure the inside diameter of a hole.
