Oral care implement
An oral care implement has an overall length extension extending between a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end being opposite the proximal end. The oral care implement comprises a head at the proximal end and a handle, the handle being at least partially made from a material having a density being higher than the density of the material of the head. The oral care implement has a center of gravity located at a distance measured from the distal end, and the ratio of said distance to the overall length extension of the oral care implement is from about 0.30 to about 0.45, preferably from about 0.35 to about 0.42, further preferably from about 0.38 to about 0.41.
Systems and methods for personalized oral irrigation
Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral irrigation. One variation of a system for personalized oral irrigation comprises a fluid reservoir and a customized oral insert in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir. The oral insert comprises an arrangement of fluid openings positioned based on the individual oral or dental structures of a user's teeth to provide a customized fluid flow over the user's teeth. Also described herein are methods for generating an arrangement of fluid openings in a customized oral insert.
Apparatus for dental irrigation
An apparatus for dental irrigation may be provided to project fluid onto the surfaces of, and the interproximal spaces between, a user's teeth and gum-line. The apparatus may comprise two hollow U-shaped manifolds having orifices located on their interior faces used as fluid jets. The manifolds may be connected, at a central point of reflection, by a rotating inlet joint which supplies the fluid flow. When placed in the user's mouth, the apparatus may be designed to receive the top and bottom sets of teeth in each corresponding U-shaped manifold, with orifices configured to provide fluid jets aligned towards the lingual and buccal side of the teeth. The orifices may be staggered to provide staggered fluid flow. A user's teeth may be cleaned with a controlled fluid flow by moving the apparatus in a sweeping motion between each set of rear molars.
Methods of Designing and Fabricating Customized Dental Care for Particular Users
The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for customizing dental care. In one aspect, a personalized dental care device includes a first customized mouthpiece including a top cleaning tray and a bottom cleaning tray, each customized based at least in part on an electronic 3-D dental model of a respective user's mouth. The personalized dental care device includes one or more power mechanisms, configured to couple with the first customized mouthpiece, and to transmit energy to at least one cleaning tray of the first customized mouthpiece. The personalized dental care device is configured to be operated in a plurality of modes. Each respective mode of the plurality of modes is associated with a different method for providing oral care.
Bristle tuft assembly and associated fabrication methods
Bristle tuft assemblies and associated fabrication methods are disclosed. One disclosed bristle tuft assembly comprises a bristle tuft, a retention material and a support surface. The support surface is permeable to the retention material when the retention material is in a molten state. The retention material is fused into the support surface. The bristle tuft is connected to the support surface via the retention material.
AN ORAL CARE APPLIANCE AND A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRESSURE THEREIN
An oral care appliance and a method of controlling pressure in the oral care appliance are disclosed. The pressure inside a mouthpiece of the oral care appliance is controlled by an actuator. The actuator is triggered when a targeted threshold value of an operational characteristic is reached. Automatic control of the pressure in the mouthpiece enhances both cleaning efficiency and user comfort.
Disposable device for oral hygiene
The present invention includes improvements to a device with bristles that makes it possible to perform oral hygiene tasks to remove quickly impurities in the oral cavity, in particular when the user is travelling and does not carry a toothbrush and, due to time constraints, requires quick and effective cleaning. The cleaning device may also include luffa sponges, water-soluble films, spheres with toothpaste or channels that provide flexibility to a membrane which, when bending, generates a vacuum and is placed on the tongue in order to be used as a toothbrush handle. The device provides a better fitting and handling in the mouth of a user, since it avoids the generation of vacuum when actuated, and also has a membrane surrounded by a cylindrical section that allows its handling since it adapts to the tongue.
Toothbrush conforming to dental arch and corresponding devices and methods
A toothbrush (10) includes a brush assembly (16) with at least three bristle arrangements (12), each having opposing inwardly-directed bristles (122, 124, 126) for simultaneously contacting facial and lingual surfaces (52, 54), and preferably also occlusal surfaces (56) of the teeth (50). Flexible linkages (14), interconnecting the bristle arrangements (12), maintain a relative spacing between the bristle arrangements (12) while allowing variation of an effective curvature of the brush assembly (16) such that the bristle arrangements (12) can ride along, and conform to a non-uniform curvature of, the arch of teeth. The toothbrush (IO) preferably also includes an actuation mechanism (22) for generating to-and-fro motion of the brush assembly (16) along the arch of teeth, most preferably combined with a more rapid small-amplitude oscillatory motion.
ORAL HYGIENE DEVICES CONFIGURED FOR USE WITH ORTHODONTICS
This application relates to oral hygiene and/teeth cleaning devices and associated methods configured for use with users having orthodontics such as braces. The devices can be configured to have a shape that allows all or substantially all of a user's teeth to be cleaned at once. In some embodiments, the devices are configured to be useable, for example, without access to water or a bathroom. The devices can be used to freshen up and clean the user's mouth on-the-go. In some embodiments, the devices are disposable.
Three-way mechanical toothbrush
A three-way mechanical toothbrush includes an angular mechanical toothbrush having a plurality of switches and a charging port disposed on a first end and a toothbrush head disposed on a second end. The toothbrush head provides for three (3) discrete areas of brush bristles with each area capable of multiple directional brushing action.
