Arrangement and Method for Contactless Determination of a Dimension of a Moving Web
The invention relates to an arrangement for contactless determination of at least one dimension of a moving material web, in particular a material web of opaque material, with a background illumination, with optical detection means for detecting at least one current contrast image and with evaluation means, wherein the background illumination is arranged opposite the optical detection means, wherein the material web moves in a plane between the at least one optical detection means and the background illumination, and wherein the current contrast image has at least one piece of information about at least one light intensity laterally adjacent to the material web. Furthermore, the present invention concerns a corresponding process. For simplifying and improving the non-contact determination of the dimension, the present invention proposes to provide a shadowing element and to compare the current contrast image with a reference contrast image, wherein the current contrast image represents a shadowing of the background illumination the material web and by the shadowing element.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND SENSOR FOR DETECTING A CHARACTERISTIC OF A TEXTILE OR METAL THREAD FED TO AN OPERATING MACHINE
A method for detecting a characteristic of a textile or metal thread fed to an operating machine, by the generation of a light signal impacting the thread to create a shadow on an optical sensor device connected to means for monitoring a characteristic of the thread on the basis of an electrical signal emitted by such sensor device as a function of the shadow generated on said sensor device by the thread itself, the characteristic being a physical characteristic of the thread such as its diameter or a characteristic of the feed of the thread when in movement, such as its speed. The signal may be detected in analog mode or a digital mode, the signal detected in the digital mode providing real time calibration of the signal detected in analog mode to generate an electrical signal used by the monitoring means to monitor the characteristics of the thread.
OPTICAL MEASURING MACHINE FOR MEASURING AN OBJECT HAVING A MAINLY LONGITUDINAL EXTENSION
An optical measuring machine for measuring an object having a mainly longitudinal extension includes a holding assembly for the object, a sensing optical assembly movable parallel to a longitudinal axis of the object in order to allow complete acquisition of an image representing it, a contact probe connected to the optical assembly to move together with it along said longitudinal axis and movable with respect to the optical assembly orthogonally to the longitudinal axis, and sensor means configured to detect at least one angular position about the longitudinal axis of the holding assembly, an axial position along the longitudinal axis of the optical assembly and a radial position, orthogonal to the longitudinal axis, of the contact probe.
NON-CONTACT MEASURING DEVICE
A non-contact measuring device for measuring dimensions of an object using processed light beams from a laser includes a laser source, an attenuator, a lens group, a stage, a charge-coupled device (CCD), and a processor. The stage supports and rotates a measurable object and the light beams passing through or reflected by the object are collected by pixels of the CCD, enabling calculations of the dimensions of the object by the processor.

Machine geometry monitoring
A machine state monitoring system for recurrently determining a change in static or dynamic properties of a geometry of a machine with positional encoders to derive a coordinate information of at least a first machine portion with respect to a second machine portion, which are movable with respect to one another. The monitoring system includes one calibration-monitoring-unit with an optical, at least two-dimensional measuring location sensing unit which is fixed to the first machine portion and configured to optically sense an at least two dimensional location information of an artifact which is provided at the second machine portion, and temporarily moved into a sensing range for determining the change in the static or dynamic properties of the geometry of the machine by a comparison of multiple of such sensings, the compensation parameters are then updated and is used to derive the coordinate information from the encoders.
