The present invention relates to a filter component comprising a plug of filter material comprising a body of a first filtering material and at least one element of a second filtering material, wherein the at least one element of the second filtering material is inserted in the body of a first filtering material, and wherein a volume ratio between a volume of the at least one element of a second filtering material and a volume of the plug is comprised between about 0.3 and about 0.8.
Smoking article mouthpiece for receiving an insert unit
A smoking article (10) includes an aerosol-generating substrate (12) and a mouthpiece (14) that (i) includes a first hollow tubular segment (24) of elastically deformable material and (ii) is secured to a downstream end of the aerosol-generating substrate; and a second hollow tubular segment (30) adjacent to and upstream of the first hollow tubular segment. The second hollow tubular segment (30) defines a chamber (32) for receiving an insert unit (50). The first hollow tubular segment defines an opening through which an insert unit can pass from the exterior of the mouthpiece into the chamber (32) of the second hollow tubular segment. At least a portion of the first hollow tubular segment inwardly projects into the opening to define at least one elastically deformable projection (26).
Smoking article mouthpiece for receiving an insert unit
A smoking article (10) includes an aerosol-generating substrate (12) and a mouthpiece (14) that (i) includes a first hollow tubular segment (24) of elastically deformable material and (ii) is secured to a downstream end of the aerosol-generating substrate; and a second hollow tubular segment (30) adjacent to and upstream of the first hollow tubular segment. The second hollow tubular segment (30) defines a chamber (32) for receiving an insert unit (50). The first hollow tubular segment defines an opening through which an insert unit can pass from the exterior of the mouthpiece into the chamber (32) of the second hollow tubular segment. At least a portion of the first hollow tubular segment inwardly projects into the opening to define at least one elastically deformable projection (26).
Heat-not-burn device and method
A device and method for converting a consumable into an aerosol with high heat without burning the consumable by packaging the consumable containing an internal susceptor inside an encasement with an induction heating element wrapped around the consumable-containing package to heat the susceptor using a magnetic field generated by the induction heating element. Combustion of the consumable-containing package is minimized by limiting air inside the consumable-containing package by coating a plurality of holes in the encasement material that melts at high temperatures. The coating may also include a flavoring.
Heat-not-burn device and method
A device and method for converting a consumable into an aerosol with high heat without burning the consumable by packaging the consumable containing an internal susceptor inside an encasement with an induction heating element wrapped around the consumable-containing package to heat the susceptor using a magnetic field generated by the induction heating element. Combustion of the consumable-containing package is minimized by limiting air inside the consumable-containing package by coating a plurality of holes in the encasement material that melts at high temperatures. The improved filter comprises a filter segment having a plurality of bores extending there through, wherein a cooling segment is arranged upstream of the filter segment, the cooling segment comprising portion having a central bore that forms a central region extending around a central axis of the aerosol-forming article and a center of each bore of the plurality of bores is arranged radially outside of the central region.
