Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a projector that is structured to be incorporated into a small form factor electronic device. In some embodiments, the projector is integrated in a depth camera assembly used for eye tracking and/or determining depth of objects in a local area. The projector includes a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) array and a substrate coupled to the VCSEL array. The VCSEL array is a bottom emitting VCSEL array formed with one or more VCSELs. The substrate includes a plurality of optical features to generate one or more SL patterns from the lights that are emitted from the VCSELs.

Moire pattern imaging device using microlens array and pixel array to form moire pattern effect

A moiré pattern imaging device includes a light-transmitting film and an optical sensor. The light-transmitting film includes a plurality of microlenses, and a light-incident surface and a light-exit surface opposite to each other. The plurality of microlenses are disposed on the light-incident surface, the light-exit surface or a combination thereof, and the plurality of microlenses are arranged in two dimensions to form a microlens array. The optical sensor includes a photosurface. The photosurface faces the light-exit surface of the light-transmitting film, the photosurface is provided with a plurality of pixels, and the plurality of pixels are arranged in two dimensions to form a pixel array. The microlens array and the pixel array correspondingly form a moiré pattern effect to produce an imaging magnification effect, and the photosurface of the optical sensor senses light and forms a moiré pattern magnification image.

Projecting apparatus and projecting calibration method

A projecting apparatus includes a projecting device, an image-capturing device and a processing device. The projecting device projects a reversible structured light code onto a surface. The image-capturing device captures the reversible structured light code projected onto the surface and obtains image data. The processing device is coupled to the projecting device and the image-capturing device. The processing device receives the image data, generates three-dimensional point cloud information by performing decoding on the image data, and obtains scanning shift information corresponding to the projecting device according to the three-dimensional point cloud information and three-dimensional information corresponding to the surface.

Hand-held tire scanner

A hand-held device for obtaining a three-dimensional topological surface profile of a tire, the device comprising: a base comprising an aperture; a light source arranged in use to generate an elongate pattern of light, and to project said pattern through the aperture onto a rolling surface of the tire; a detector arranged to image a region of the rolling surface of the tire; a plurality of pairs of guide wheels mounted on respective axles mounted on the base, wherein the guide wheels on adjacent axles are linked by gears; and a rotary encoder arranged to generate a signal corresponding to rotation of an axle.

A method of scanning an oral cavity including: acquiring, using an intraoral scanner (IOS) head, without changing a position of the IOS head, a first image of a first region of interest (ROI) and a second image of a second ROI where the first and the second ROIs are of different portions of a dental arch of the oral cavity and do not overlap; reconstructing depth information for the first and the second ROI; and generating a single model of the dental arch by combing the depth information.

Imaging system with calibration target object
11692815 · 2023-07-04 · ·

Imaging system based on light triangulation for capturing information on three dimensional characteristics of an object by means of one or more cameras. A calibration target object is within respective field of view of said cameras so that the cameras are able to detect light reflected from a surface structure of the calibration target object comprising one or more regular right pyramidal recesses and one or more regular right pyramids, with their respective bases in the same plane and their respective apexes at the same orthogonal distance from that same plane. The base of at least one of said regular right pyramidal recesses shares at least one side with the base of at least one of said regular right pyramids, such that each pair of lateral faces sharing side are located in a common plane.
