Adaptive brushing cycle
An oral care appliance for cleaning teeth of a user and a method of adapting a brushing cycle of the oral care appliance are disclosed. Specific embodiments disclosed herein adapt the at least one brushing cycle based on a variety of factors, either alone or in combination, such as the time elapsed since a last brushing event and the identity of a user.
Skin treatment apparatus
A facial treatment apparatus includes a housing, a facial treatment member mounted to the housing, and dimensioned for application to facial skin of a subject and being actuable to treat the facial skin, a visual display including a facial icon having a plurality of regions corresponding to different areas of the facial skin to be treated by the facial treatment member, an electronic timer adapted to count time associated with a treatment protocol and responsive to actuation of the facial treatment member and a controller associated with the timer and the facial icon and cooperating to visually identify a different region of the facial icon at successive predetermined time intervals of the treatment protocol.
Powered oral care implement
An oral care implement including a handle and an oral care refill head. The handle has a gripping portion, an engagement component coupled to a distal end of the gripping portion, and a stem. The engagement component includes a plate portion and a first engagement feature. The stem extends through an opening in the engagement component and protrudes from the plate portion. The oral care refill head includes an oral care treatment portion and a sleeve portion. The sleeve portion has an inner surface that defines a sleeve cavity having a cavity axis and a second engagement feature. When the oral care refill head is detachably coupled to the handle, the first and second engagement features mate with one another to at least one of: (1) position the oral care refill head and the handle in an operational alignment; and (2) lock the oral care refill head to the handle.
Head portion and handle portion of an oral care device
An oral care device is disclosed. The oral care device includes a housing being at least partly formed of an electrically isolating material; a capacitor having a first electrode and a second electrode, the first and second electrodes being electrically isolated by the electrically isolating material of the housing such that they are not exposed to an outside environment of the oral care device; and a processor unit being electrically connected to the first and second electrodes. The processor unit is arranged such that during operation of the oral care device it determines a capacitance (x) of the capacitor in order to determine whether the oral care device is within a user's oral cavity or not.
Oral health care implement and system with oximetry sensor
An oral health care implement and system are provided for use during oral health care activities. The oral health care implement has an oximetry sensor, most often in the embodiment of a transmissive or reflective pulse oximeter. The oximetry sensor provides blood oxygen saturation and heart rate measurements. The oral health care system has an oral health care implement, a first data transfer medium, and any combination of: a second data transfer medium, a network storage device, and a third data transfer medium. The system provides means for collecting a user's vital signs and transmitting data into a readable, usable form for the user via an oral health care implement.
TOOTHBRUSH MODULE, ATTACHMENT FOR TOOTHBRUSH, BRUSHING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM, BRUSHING EVALUATION SYSTEM, BRUSHING ASSISTANCE DEVICE, AND BRUSHING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Provided are a toothbrush module, a toothbrush attachment, a brushing assistance system, a brushing evaluation system, a brushing assistance device, and a brushing assistance program that ease obtainment of a brushing action of a user even during brushing.
A toothbrush attachment (2) includes: a sensor unit (21) that detects a predetermined physical quantity; a wireless transmission unit (22) that transmits a radio signal indicating the physical quantity detected by the sensor unit (21); a housing unit (201) that houses the sensor unit (21) and the wireless transmission unit (22); and a coupling mechanism (202) that removably attaches the housing unit (201) to a toothbrush (4). A wireless terminal device (3) includes a wireless receiver (31) that receives a radio signal and obtains the physical quantity, a music output unit (354) that outputs an image or sound so as to support brushing by a user with the toothbrush (4) based on the physical quantity, a figure display control unit (363), and a notification unit (373).
Toothbrush system utilizing oral care capsule
A toothbrush includes a brush head having a capsule receiving zone sized to receive a dentrifice capsule. A plurality angled bristles may retain the capsule in such zone. Loading of such toothbrush with a capsule may be performed with a dispenser including a toothbrush manipulation element adapted to move a retention structure associated with the brush head, and dispensation element adapted to deliver the capsule into the receiving zone. Such dispenser may include a desiccant material disposed to receive moisture from a capsule storage container. A dispenser may further include a plurality of toothbrush insertion apertures each adapted to receive a portion of a different toothbrush, so as to enable multiple users each having different toothbrushes to use the same dispenser without requiring contact between multiple brushes and single capsule interface surface of the dispenser.
ELECTRICAL TOOTH BRUSH DEVICE HAVING SUCTION AND RELATED KIT AND METHOD
An electrical toothbrush system, device, method and kit are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the system or device or kit include a suction lumen. In some embodiments, a display-control circuitry is provided, the circuitry configured to cause the display assembly to operate in the first or second display modes according to an elapsed-time-since-most-recent-operation, as measured by the timing circuitry.
TOOTHBRUSHES AND AUDIBLE SIGNAL GENERATING COMPONENTS THEREOF
A toothbrush comprising a drive mechanism and electronic circuitry configured to drive the drive mechanism to execute toothbrushing motions is disclosed. The electronic circuitry comprises a drive circuitry and a controller which is configured to form a drive signal to operate the drive circuitry to generate drive current. The drive signal comprises a plurality of signal packets, wherein a signal packet has a signal packet duration and comprises a train of switching signals. The switching signals are configured to repeatedly switch on and switch off drive current supply to the drive mechanism at a switching frequency f.sub.s. The signal packet duration is configured to define a rhythm of toothbrushing motions.
Systems, methods, and devices for providing guidance and feedback based on location and performance
Systems, methods, and devices for providing feedback to an individual based on brushing performance, and providing guidance for the individual's brushing, are provided herein. In one exemplary embodiment, after an oral hygiene device is orientated, a determination is made as to a segment within the individual's mouth that a brush head of the oral hygiene device is located. Upon this determination being made, a sub-segment within the individual's mouth where the brush head is located is also determined. A brushing performance within the sub-segment is calculated and displayed to the user. A level of compliance for the particular segment is determined based on the brushing performance of the various sub-segments within the particular segment. If the level of compliance exceeds a pre-set compliance level for that segment, the individual is guided to a different segment within their mouth for brushing.
