Described herein is an oral care implement comprising: a handle; and a head coupled to the handle, the head comprising a main body and a release component coupled to the main body, the release component comprising: a water-dissolvable matrix comprising a first polymer having a processing temperature greater than or equal to 130 C.; and a release agent comprising a sensate; wherein the release agent is dispersed throughout the water-dissolvable matrix.

Computerized cosmetics brushes

A computer-implemented method of training a user to effectively apply makeup using a computerized makeup brush, the method comprising the steps of receiving, from a computerized makeup brush that comprises one or more sensors for sensing the movement of the makeup brush relative to a particular portion of a user's body, data representing a movement of the makeup brush relative to the particular portion of the user's body over a particular period of time as the makeup brush is used to apply makeup brush to the particular portion of the user's body, and using the data to generate and display, to a user, a visual representation of the movement of the makeup brush over the particular period of time on a display that is operatively coupled to the computerized makeup brush.

END EFFECTOR AND SYSTEMS INCLUDING A WEAR INDICATOR BASED ON MIXING

End effectors and systems including end effectors configured to provide colorimetric indicia of a wear state of the end effector are described. In one embodiment, the end effector includes: a base portion coupleable to a motor; a chamber including an optically translucent window and a chamber interior; and a flowable material disposed in the chamber interior and having a color. The end effector is configured to provide colorimetric indicia of a wear state of the end effector based at least in part on mixing of the flowable material.

Systems and methods for measuring and indicating brush head life are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a brush head that moves with respect to a brush handle; an energy harvester that generates electrical signals based on movements of the brush head; a controller in electrical communication with the energy harvester; and an indicator in electrical communication with the controller. The indicator is energized based on a signal from the controller.

END EFFECTORS AND SYSTEMS INCLUDING COLORIMETRIC WEAR INDICATOR

End effectors and systems including end effectors configured to provide visible indicia of a wear state of the end effectors are described.

END EFFECTORS AND SYSTEMS INCLUDING A HAPTIC OR AUDIBLE WEAR INDICATOR

End effectors and systems including end effectors configured to provide audible and/or haptic indicia of fatigue failure of springs disposed in the end effectors are described.

CONNECTED DENTAL DEVICE

A system for providing a connected dental device is disclosed. In particular, the system may include integrating a network chip or transceiver into a dental device, such as a toothbrush, so as to enable the dental device to communicate with a user device and one or more accessory devices. Once the user device and one or more accessory devices are paired with the user device, the system may track information associated with the dental device and the user using the dental device. Based on the tracked information, the system may determine an action to be performed by the user using the dental device. Using the dental device, the system may transmit a notification to the user device to alert the user of the action that needs to be performed. The system may also transmit notifications providing status information for the dental device and the one or more accessory devices.

PERSONAL CARE DEVICE

A personal care device (12) comprising an RF signal generator (32) for generating RF-frequency electromagnetic emissions for a cleaning or treatment function. The RF emissions may be output from a set of two or more RF electrodes (22) (e.g. electrodes) upon stimulation with an RF drive signal in a frequency range from 3 kHz to 30 GHz from an RF signal generator. The device further includes a controller (34) for detect a degraded functional state of the RF electrodes (22) via monitoring changes or variations in one or more electrical characteristics of the RF signal generator (32), e.g. drift in one or more electrical characteristics from reference factory levels, or sudden changes in the characteristics, indicating a short-circuit. A response action can be generated based on the electrical characteristics meeting pre-defined criteria indicative of a certain degraded functional status, for example generating a sensory alert for a user or data output, or performing remedial action such as deactivating sensed defective or worn electrodes.
