Light guiding unit
There is provided a light guiding unit (10) for use in an oral cleaning device. The light guiding unit is configured to be coupled to a light source (50), and the light guiding unit comprises a homogenizing component (110) having a length along which light from the light source is guided. The homogenizing component is further configured such that at least one of an amount of refraction of the guided light and an amount of internal reflection of the guided light varies along the length to homogenize, along the length of the homogenizing component, an amount of light transmitting out of the homogenizing component.
ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH
The present disclosure provides an electric toothbrush including a driving module, a connection shaft, a battery supporter, a support cover, a print circuit board and a switch. The driving module includes a driving element, a driving element supporter, a reset elastic element and a stress element. The connection shaft passes through the driving element supporter and the battery supporter. The driving element is used to drive the driving module to rotate from a starting position to a triggering position and make the reset elastic element generate elastic deformation. In the starting position, the driving element supporter is separated from the switch, and the switch is in an OFF state. In the triggering position, the driving element supporter contacts the switch and the switch is in an ON state, and the driving module rotates to the starting position with a reset force of the elastic deformation of the elastic element.
Systems, methods, and devices for providing guidance and feedback based on location and performance
Systems, methods, and devices for providing feedback to an individual based on brushing performance, and providing guidance for the individual's brushing, are provided herein. In one exemplary embodiment, after an oral hygiene device is orientated, a determination is made as to a segment within the individual's mouth that a brush head of the oral hygiene device is located. Upon this determination being made, a sub-segment within the individual's mouth where the brush head is located is also determined. A brushing performance within the sub-segment is calculated and displayed to the user. A level of compliance for the particular segment is determined based on the brushing performance of the various sub-segments within the particular segment. If the level of compliance exceeds a pre-set compliance level for that segment, the individual is guided to a different segment within their mouth for brushing.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIATING PRESSURE
A personal care appliance having a brush head assembly, the brush head assembly including a neck having a first end and a second end, a brush head arranged proximate the first end of the neck. The brush head including a first face fixedly secured to a plurality of bristles, the plurality of bristles arranged to extend from the first face in a first direction, and a second face arranged to create a first frictional force between the second face and an oral environment in a second direction, and create a second frictional force between the second face and the oral environment in a third direction.
Short wavelength visible light-emitting toothbrush with an electronic signal interlock control
A toothbrush having one or more light sources with an electronic interlock control device preventing operation of the light source when the toothbrush is removed from the user's mouth. The electronic interlock control over operation is necessary to prevent accidental eye exposure to the high intensity light source with a wavelength in the range of about 400 nm to about 1000 nm. The light-emitting toothbrush activates upon entering the user's mouth but deactivates immediately when removed, thus protecting the user's eyes from direct exposure to the high power light source contained in the brush head.
Manual force sensitive toothbrush
A Manual Force Sensitive Toothbrush which includes a pivot section which couples a main beam section to a bristle beam section. The pivot section provides notification to user when force upon gumline is exceeded beyond the predetermined levels of force. The pivot is a manual system the connects and reconnects through the use of magnets. When magnets are in connect, the main beam and bristle beam sections provide the end user a gripping section and bristle section to carefully and effectively brush tooth and gums, adversely the force sensitive toothbrush releases upon excessive force applied against tooth and gum—creating a force sensitive section in the toothbrush as referred to as the pivot section. The release of the bristle beam section extends between 15-20 degrees from the resting plane of the main beam section. As further use, the bristle beam section bristle head backside has a thoughtfully designed indent for the use to apply an index finger to stabilize the main beam section with the bristle beam section to brush the tongue with ability to apply forces above that designed for the tooth and gum.
Oral care system and method
In one embodiment, the invention can be an oral care system that includes a toothbrush; a programmable processor configured to receive oral characteristic data indicative of an oral characteristic of a user; and determine for the user, based at least in part on the oral characteristic data, at least one of a suggested brushing routine and a brushing evaluation for a brushing session.
HANDHELD COSMETIC DEVICE WITH KINEMATIC AND OPTICAL SENSING FOR CUSTOMIZING TREATMENT ROUTINES
A method includes determining a position of a skincare device with respect to a body part of a user via one or more sensors on the skincare device, the skincare device configured to apply a treatment to the user's body part; obtaining a location of a target area on the body part having a condition for application of the treatment; adjusting a parameter of the skincare device according to the location of the target area and based on the condition.
HANDHELD COSMETIC DEVICE WITH KINEMATIC AND OPTICAL SENSING FOR CUSTOMIZING TREATMENT ROUTINES
A skincare device includes a brushhead; a body including a motor assembly configured to oscillate the brushhead and an inertial measuring unit (IMU) configured to determine kinematic measurements of the device; a first optical encoder including a light source and an optical sensor configured to capture images; and processing circuitry configured to determine a location of the brushhead with respect to a body part of the user based on a combination of data measured from the IMU and the first optical encoder.
Personal care systems, products, and methods
A personal care system having personal hygiene products and a display for assisting the user is described. The personal care system can include a personal care product (e.g., an electric toothbrush), an interactive display in data communication with the personal care product. The display provides information associated with a plurality of characteristics of a personal care regimen to the user. The display is in data communication with a network and operable to receive information from the network, and the display is operable to run one or more applications to display the information received from the network.
