Oral Hygiene Systems and Methods
A method for promoting compliance with an oral hygiene regimen includes displaying, on a display device, a representation of at least a portion of a set of teeth of a user. The method also includes overlaying an indicium on the representation such that the indicium is associated with a first section of the representation. Responsive to a determination, via at least one of one or more processors, that a head of an oral hygiene device is positioned directly adjacent to a first section of the set of teeth that corresponds to the first section of the representation for at least a predetermined amount of time, the indicium is removed from the display device.
Oral care mouthpiece with brushing elements
This disclosure relates to oral care mouthpieces and methods of forming oral care mouthpieces. A disclosed oral care mouthpiece includes a base shaped to a dental arch. The base elastically deforms in response to pressure variations in the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece also includes a set of one or more supports attached to the base and placed to allow the base to elastically deform in response to the pressure variations in the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece also includes a set of oral care elements attached to the set of one or more supports and placed to transmit pressure to the dental arch when the base elastically deforms in response to the pressure variations in the mouthpiece.
Oral hygiene device
Systems and methods are generally described for an oral hygiene device. The oral hygiene device may include a handle portion and a head portion coupled to the handle portion and including a pick head interface. A pick head may be removably coupled to the pick head interface. The pick head may include a pointed pick member. An image capture device may be disposed in the head portion. The image capture device may be effective to capture image data representing images of an area proximal to a tip of the pointed pick member. A vibration element may be coupled to the pick head interface. The vibration element may be effective to vibrate the pick head.
System and Method for Assessing Toothbrush Effectiveness
In one embodiment, the invention can be a system for determining toothbrush effectiveness, the system comprising a data capture subsystem comprising at least one sensor and configured to generate brushing data during a participant brushing session directed entirely by the participant, and at least one processor configured to receive the brushing data from the data capture subsystem. A brushing simulation subsystem includes artificial teeth; and a robotic arm configured to: hold a toothbrush; and receive from the at least one processor instructions for a motion to be carried out by the robotic arm, the motion of the robotic arm causing the toothbrush to carry out an automated brushing session upon the artificial teeth, the motion of the robotic arm being based on the brushing data captured during the participant brushing session.
Method for determining of movement patterns during a dental treatment
An electric toothbrush includes a brush head at an end of a handle, an acceleration sensor and/or a rotation sensor that detect(s) movement parameters of the electric toothbrush, a wireless communication interface that wirelessly transmits recorded data comprising the detected movements parameters of the electric toothbrush in a processed state and receives treatment mode data for operating the electric toothbrush, a pressure sensor that detects a contact pressure applied by the brush head to teeth and/or gums, at least one first outputting device that visually outputs signals or commands in accordance with the detected contact pressure or in accordance with the detected movement parameters, and at least one second outputting device that haptically outputs signals or commands, in the form of vibrations, in accordance with the detected contact pressure or in accordance with the detected movement parameters.

Oral care system and method
In one embodiment, an oral care system may include a toothbrush comprising a physical property, and a programmable processor configured to receive physical property data indicative of the physical property of the toothbrush. The programmable processor may be further configured to determine, based at least in part upon the received physical property data, a suggested brushing routine for a user and/or an evaluation of a brushing session of a user.
Methods and systems for extracting brushing motion characteristics of a user using an oral hygiene device including at least one accelerometer to provide feedback to a user
Systems and methods for enhancing a user's efficiency while operating an oral hygiene device (10) is provided. In an exemplary embodiment, motion information of an oral hygiene device is received from one or more accelerometers (32) located within the oral hygiene device. The received motion information is compared to a targeted motion of the oral hygiene device. The user operating the oral hygiene device is then provided with feedback in response to determining that the received motion information is within a predefined range of the targeted motion information.
System and method for determining and notifying a user when to replace a dental cleaning head
A system and method of determining and notifying a user when to replace a worn dental cleaning head (104), comprises receiving, from a sensor (106), at least one measured value; calculating, using the measured value, a burn metric of the dental cleaning head; modeling, using the burn metric, an estimated lifetime of the dental cleaning head; determining, from the lifetime model, whether the dental cleaning head is in need of replacement; and notifying the user upon determining that the dental cleaning head is in need of replacement.
Electric toothbrush with assembly for detecting pressure against brush head
Disclosed is an electric toothbrush, comprising: a handle; a drive element provided in the handle, an output shaft of the drive element extending out of the handle; a brush head disposed at one end of the output shaft remote from the handle and connected to the output shaft; and a stress triggering element and a stress detecting element, which are oppositely provided on surfaces of the output shaft; wherein the stress triggering element is configured for producing stress concentration at the position where the stress triggering element is located when the output shaft motions; and the stress detecting element is configured for detecting the stress at the position where the stress triggering element is located, thereby obtaining a pressure corresponding to the stress, the electric toothbrush as provided offers a simple structure for pressure detection.
