A method of map generation includes receiving data from a plurality of vehicles about environments within which the plurality of vehicles operate, and generating a three-dimensional map using the data from the plurality of vehicles. The data is collected by one or more sensors on-board the plurality of vehicles.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a map construction method, apparatus, and storage medium. The method includes the following steps: acquiring sensor data collected by a preset sensor; establishing a pose constraint relationship of a movable object and a semantic constraint relationship of a semantic object according to the sensor data; performing a joint optimization solution according to the pose constraint relationship and the semantic constraint relationship to determine a semantic result of the semantic object and a pose result of the movable object; and constructing a semantic map and a point cloud map according to the semantic result and the pose result. By adopting the above technical solution, the semantic map and the point cloud map can be obtained quickly and accurately, thereby obtaining a more accurate high-definition map.

A system for determining an existence of a change in a region can include a processor, a communications device, and a memory. The memory can store a change determination module and a communications module. The change determination module can cause the processor to: (1) determine, in response to having obtained an indication of a possible change in the region, a location of a connected car in a vicinity of the region and facts about a sensor disposed on the connected car and (2) determine a strategy to obtain data about the possible change. The strategy can be based on at least one of the location of the connected car or the facts about the sensor. The communications module can cause the processor to transmit, via the communications device and to the connected car, an instruction to control, according to the strategy, the sensor to obtain the data.

A road map generation system is provided that collects camera image data of road conditions captured during traveling of vehicles on roads and generates road map data based on the camera image data. The system performs image processing on the collected camera image data to convert into orthographic images and to combine the orthographic images to generate a combined image. The system extracts a defective portion of a road marking on a road from the combined image and performs a determination of whether the defective portion of the road marking is due to noise at the image processing of the image processing device or there is a defect in the real world. When the defective portion of the road marking is due to the noise at the image processing, the system performs a correction process of the road marking.

An electronic device for a vehicle includes a power supply configured to supply power, an interface configured to receive high-definition (HD) map data of a specified region from a server through a communication device and to receive traveling situation information of the vehicle, and at least one processor configured to continuously generate electronic horizon data of the specified region based on the HD map data in a state in which the power is received, and to adjust a speed of reception of the HD map data based on the traveling situation information.

A method includes defining a simulated transportation network based on a map that represents a real-world physical transportation network. The simulated transportation network includes segments, and each segment includes information that describes operating characteristics for the segment. The method also includes defining simulated users and performing a simulation in which the simulated users are moved relative to the simulated transportation network. The simulated users are moved using control instructions, and the simulated users are moved based on the information that describes operating characteristics for the segment that corresponds to a respective current location for each of the simulated users. The method also includes identifying map errors based on the simulation.

The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for creating an occupancy grid map, as well as a processing apparatus. The method includes: creating a current occupancy grid map based on a location of the vehicle and a previous occupancy grid map; and determining a current probability that each grid in the current occupancy grid map belongs to each of occupancy categories based on last environment perception information received from the sensors and updating an occupancy category to which each grid in the current occupancy grid map belongs based on the current probability that the grid belongs to each of the occupancy categories, in accordance with an asynchronous updating policy.
