Voltage event tracking and classification
A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property is disclosed. In one aspect, the monitoring system includes a sensor that is located at the property and that is configured to generate sensor data. The monitoring system further includes a voltage sensor that is configured to generate voltage data by measuring voltage at an electrical outlet located at the property. The monitoring system further includes a monitor control unit that is configured to receive the sensor data; receive the voltage data; determine an action of an electrical device that is located in the property or that is located at a neighboring property in a vicinity of the property; determine whether the electrical device is located at the property or at the neighboring property in the vicinity of the property; and perform a monitoring system action.
SMART COVER FOR PROXIMITY-BASED UTILITY METER READING AND PAYMENT PROCESSING
A retrofit module provides wireless communication capability to legacy utility meters. A smart cover or other retrofit module may be used to upgrade existing legacy meters. The retrofit module may communicate with the utility meter via a local connection. The retrofit module may be able to receive meter data, such as usage information, and send data or instructions to the meter, such as firmware updates. The retrofit module may wirelessly receive and transmit data used for billing, payment, usage monitoring, and/or other functionality to a user device across a local wireless connection (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.). Internet-connected user devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, laptops, etc. are ubiquitous. The retrofit module may utilize such user devices as internet gateways to send and receive data between the utility meter and various network-connected resources (e.g., utility account resources, payment processing resources, etc.).
System, Method and Apparatus for System Status Identification in a Wireless Sensor Network
A configured mode of operation of a wireless sensor network can be established through a dynamic remote configuration process. The plug-and-play universal sensor interface enables the monitoring capabilities of the wireless sensor network to scale seamlessly with the dynamic nature of changing sensor application objectives. A system status module enables a user to view the sensor service to confirm the current configuration of the wireless sensor network.
METHOD OF AUTOMATICALLY MATING A GATEWAY DEVICE WITH AN ENERGY MEASUREMENT DEVICE
A method of automatically mating a gateway device with an energy measurement device in a usage area via a user computing device including steps of providing a gateway device for an energy measurement device in the usage area, connecting the gateway device to a local network for the usage area, installing a user application on the user computing device, searching for the gateway device with the user application for a predetermined time period, detecting the gateway device within the predetermined time period by establishing communication between the gateway device and the user computing device, and passing information between the gateway device and the user application on the user computing device to allow the gateway device to connect to the energy meter.
System, method and apparatus for the distribution of wireless sensor network information
The presentation of sensor network information can be provided to a user via a customized dashboard web interface. The dashboard web interface can be based on customized transformation and alert functions that can be applied to one or more sensor channels of data produced from sensors at a monitored location. The customized alerts can provide real-time monitoring of targeted conditions at the monitored location.
Energy theft detection device
A device for detecting energy theft from a utility network configured to access energy data for utilities, generate energy results, identify an outlying utility in the energy results, access behavioral data, determine whether there is a likelihood of energy theft associated with the outlying utility, generate descriptive results from the behavioral data indicating the likelihood of energy theft, receive a response of whether the energy theft occurred, and refine operation of the detecting of energy theft of the device.
Smart metering device providing adaptive service level
The present invention describes a smart metering device being part of an advanced metering infrastructure. The smart metering device might comprise one or more sub devices such as: metering devices, actuator devices, sensor devices etc. The smart metering device includes a valve arranged to limit the delivery of a utility to the consumer. Moreover the smart metering devices includes a communication device including a transmitter and a receiver for wireless communication with a collector, utilizing a listen after talk mechanism to perform a two way communication to the head end system through a collector. The presented invention is especially beneficial for battery supplied smart metering devices. The advanced metering infrastructure will provide a given service level for communication between the meter and the head end system. The service level will be changed dynamically in order to meet the adequate service level at all times.
System, method and apparatus for wireless control of an actuator
A wireless sensor network at a monitored location can be configured to generate sensor channel(s) of data to assess operational conditions at the monitored location. Inputs based on the sensor channel(s) of data are provided to a host system for analysis of a demand to one or more resources at the monitored location. Response messages can be generated based on the demand analysis and transmitted to actuator(s) at the monitored location to effect an adjustment to the operational conditions.
Method for communication between at least one meter device and an airborne device
A method provides communication between a meter and a flying device. The meter records consumption data. The flying device performs flight movements to a prescribed target position of the meter. Radio signals are received by a reception device and information is ascertained, relating to the transmission quality of a radio channel, based on the received signals. A poor transmission quality, satisfaction of which is dependent on the quality of the information, results in the reception of received signals and the ascertainment of the information being repeated after a communication protocol for communication with the meter has been changed, a position of the flying device being altered and/or a directivity of the reception device is altered until the transmission quality or a termination condition is satisfied. Upon having a satisfactory quality condition, meter information is captured and a message for controlling the operation of the meter is sent to the meter.
Method of disaggregating an energy usage signal of a usage area
A method of disaggregating an energy usage signal of a usage area includes steps of providing a gateway device for an aggregate energy usage signal of a usage area, installing a user application on a user computing device to display information from the gateway device, receiving a plurality of inputs, and determining the energy usage of the individual electrically powered devices in the usage area based on the aggregate energy usage signal and based on the plurality of inputs.
