Oral care implement having fluid delivery system
An oral care implement has a head portion with tooth cleaning elements on a front surface thereof and a reservoir containing a fluid. A delivery member extends through at least a portion of the oral care implement to deliver the fluid from the reservoir to an applicator that may be positioned on the rear surface of the head. In one aspect, the applicator and the delivery member may be separate components that are fluidly coupled to one another. The applicator and the delivery member may both be formed of a capillary material.
Personal Care Implement with Fluid Delivery System
A personal care implement with a fluid dispensing system includes a fluid applicator, a fluid dispensing assembly including main and overflow reservoirs, and a capillary member in fluid communication with the reservoirs and the applicator for dispensing personal care fluid stored in the reservoirs via capillary action. An air venting system in one arrangement allows ambient air to be drawn into the main reservoir through the overflow reservoir for alleviating vacuum formed in the main reservoir by the capillary action fluid dispensing process. The venting system may include an external vent to atmosphere from the overflow reservoir and an internal vent between the reservoirs. In the event air trapped within the main reservoir expands due to changes in altitude or temperature, fluid in the main reservoir is expelled into the overflow reservoir via the internal vent. In one implementation, the personal care implement may be an oral care implement.
Oral care implement
An oral care implement comprising tooth cleaning elements and a tissue cleanser. In one aspect, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising: a head and a handle, the head having a first face, a second face, and at least one port extending through the head from the first face to the second face; a plurality of tufts of bristles extending from the first face of the head; a soft tissue cleanser positioned on the second face of the head, the soft tissue cleanser comprising a pad formed of an elastomeric material and a plurality of tissue engaging elements extending from the pad; and an elastomeric tooth cleaning element extending from the first face of the head, the elastomeric tooth cleaning element integrally formed with the pad and extending through the port in the head.
BRUSH HEAD FOR A TOOTHBRUSH AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE BRUSH HEAD
The brush head of the toothbrush has filaments that are pointed at one end and led through clearances in the bristle carrier. These filaments have a length of about 10-20 mm. The tips of the pointed filaments produce a height profile other than that of a plane and the ends of the pointed filaments that are remote from the tips are melted.
Oral Care Implement Having Diverging Cleaning Elements
An oral care implement implementing a cleaning element arrangement having diverging cleaning elements. In one aspect, the invention is an oral care implement comprising a handle and a head. A plurality of cleaning elements extend from the first surface of the head so as to form a ring about an axis extending from the first surface of the head. Each of the cleaning elements extend from the first surface of the head at an inclined orientation so as to radially diverge from the axis. In one embodiment, a cleaning element wall also extends from the first surface of the head and circumferentially surrounds the plurality of cleaning elements. In another aspect, the invention may be an apparatus for incorporation into an ansate oral care implement that utilizes the aforementioned arrangement of cleaning elements.
Oral care implement
An oral care implement comprising tooth cleaning elements and a tissue cleanser. In one aspect, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising: a head and a handle; a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from a first face of the head; a receiving cavity formed into a second face of the head opposite the first face; and a soft tissue cleanser formed of an elastomeric material positioned within the receiving cavity, the soft tissue cleanser comprising a base surface that is flush with the second face of the head and a plurality of projections extending beyond the second face of the head.
Products and methods for disclosing conditions in the oral cavity
An oral composition capable of identifying a condition within the oral cavity by causing a visual contrast between the condition and the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity has at least one disclosing agent. The disclosing agent can fluoresce in order to highlight conditions within the oral cavity.
Oral care device with sensing functionality
An oral care system for sensing blood in an oral cavity and in gum tissue. The sensing is performed magnetically using a magnetic field source (16) and magnetic sensing arrangement (18) incorporated into a cleaning or treatment portion of an oral care device (e.g. a brush head of a toothbrush or mouthpiece part of a brushing mouthpiece device). The field source generates (16) a reference field and the sensing arrangement (18) is arranged to sense the field strength of the reference field at one or more spatial points. Since blood is magnetic, when brought into the reference field, it magnetically interacts with the field, which may alter field strength, field shape, or flux distribution. This enables presence of blood to be detected. It also allows for detecting specific oral features or disease states associated with presence of blood or abnormal amounts or concentrations of blood. For example, this can be based on application of detection criteria which relate to one or more properties of the sensed field.
