Energy efficient smart label with an electrically destructible fuse
Smart labels, methods of operating smart labels, and associated contexts in which such smart labels may be used are disclosed. The smart label, for use in conjunction with consumer product packaging, comprises an energy harvester to capture ambient energy to provide a source of electrical energy and electronic circuitry powered by the electrical energy. A fuse provides an electrical connection between the energy harvester and the electronic circuitry and destruction of the fuse permanently disconnects the energy harvester from the electronic circuitry. Unnecessary continued operation of the electronic circuitry powered by the energy harvester can therefore be prevented, for example when the consumer product packaging is disposed of or recycled, which may be an undesirable heat source. Smart labelling, and a connected network of smart bins which can read the smart labelling, may also be used to promote consumer recycling of consumer product packaging.

A wireless logger device and a method for improving heat transfer in such a logger device, such that the logger device is configured to measure at least one environmental parameter of a shipment while transporting the shipment from an origin location to a destination location and regularly communicate the measured environmental parameter to an external data processing device. The logger device includes a housing having an opening, at least one sensing device including a temperature sensor for measuring the environmental parameter including temperature within the housing, a communication module comprising a modem for communicating the at least one measured environmental parameter to an external data processing device, and a display screen configured to be placed in the opening of the housing, wherein the display screen is positioned adjacent the modem and is in thermal contact with the modem.

The delivery unit 15 includes a thermometer Se1 that measures a temperature in the storage container 33, a memory unit 53 that memorizes therein data of the measured temperature in chronological order, a quality-data generation unit 55a that generates quality data of articles based on temperature data acquired from the memory unit 53, a print-data editing unit 55h that edits print data relating to a quality certificate including a graphic image representing the quality in chronological order of the cooling environment in the storage container 33 accommodating articles therein during delivery based on a serial number of the article and the quality data, and a printer 27 that prints print data relating to the quality certificate on a recording medium.
SHIPPING AND LOGISTICS ANALYTICS AND PREDICTION SYSTEM
Systems and techniques may be used for real time monitoring of content of a package. An example technique may include receiving sensor data sent from a first wireless telecommunications transmitter of a sensor device inside a package in transit, located together with content in the package, identifying whether the sensor data indicates that the content in the package was subjected to a condition outside of a specified range and receiving a status request for the package sent from a second wireless telecommunications transmitter of a mobile device based on a scanned machine-readable code on or affixed via a label to an outside face of the package. In response to receiving the status request, the technique may include sending an indication for display on the mobile device.
NETWORK SYSTEM AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
Provided is a network system including a communication terminal to be used by a user and a server configured to communicate with the communication terminal. The communication terminal accepts input of a product to be purchased. The server deletes the input product to be purchased from stock in a refrigerator corresponding to the user. Upon accepting purchased product information from a mobile terminal device or the like, the server adds the information to the stock in the refrigerator.
Sensor device for detecting transport parameters and method of making the same
A sensor device for detecting transport parameters representative of those experienced by a sample during transportation is provided. The sample is stored in a container. The sensor device includes a housing with a configuration that generally matches the configuration of the container, a hardened substrate portion formed from a substrate material, and a sensor assembly comprising at least one sensor for detecting at least one transport parameter (e.g. acceleration, orientation, temperature, etc.). The sensor assembly is secured within the housing by the hardened substrate portion. Optionally, a weight of the device approximates a combined weight of the container and the sample stored therein. The weight of the sensor device can be adjusted. When the device is positioned proximate to the container during transportation, the at least one transport parameter detected by the at least one sensor is analogous to that at least one transport parameter experienced in the container.
Sensor labels that log events against time
Disposable or single-use sensor labels sense a parameter and record the sensed parameter having: a semi-permeable medium or substrate with a parameter-sensitive and activatable developer. The developer, when activated, exhibits a detectable manifestation of a changed state that progresses over time. The detectable manifestation of this changed state is read and recorded to log parameter change data. Further, a method of using the sensor label monitors viability of a material associated with the label, such as for freshness and security assessment that is recorded for archival or reporting or quality control purposes. A changed state is exhibited that progresses over time, associating the label with a material to be monitored and positioning same into a given environment, and the recording can track the changed state against time.
Smart power source
An article having a conductive body, a magnetic diverter, and a communication device is described. The magnetic diverter is positioned on an outer surface of the conductive body. The magnetic diverter covers a substantial portion of the outer surface of the conductive body. A communication device is positioned on the outer surface of the diverter or may be recessed therein. The communication device is capable of signal coupling with a reader.

Provided is a data logger. A data logger includes a sensor configured to sense a change in a gravitational acceleration of the data logger and a change in a rotation angle of the data logger, and generate a sensing signal, a communication module configured to receive configuration information including a sensing period and threshold values of the data logger from a portable reader, and a microprocessor unit configured to receive the sensing signal from the sensor, receive the sensing period and the threshold values from the communication module, generate sensing values corresponding to the sensing signal, compare the sensing values with the threshold values, determine whether an abnormal state occurs in the data logger according to a result of the comparison, generate and transmit to a server normal log information at each of the sensing period when the abnormal state does not occur in the data logger, and generate and transmit to the server abnormal log information whenever the abnormal state occurs regardless of the sensing period.
