MAGNETIC DOOR POSITION DETECTION APPARATUS

In one aspect the invention provides a magnetic door position detection apparatus adapted to attach to a cabinet interior with a door arranged to transition between an open state where the interior of the cabinet is accessible, and a closed state. The door includes a magnetic field generating structure configured to magnetically engage the door with the cabinet in the closed state. The apparatus provided includes a housing configured to attach to the interior of the cabinet and one or more sensors configured to determine change in the magnetic flux field within the interior of the cabinet induced by motion of the magnetic field generating structure in at least one of three orthogonal axes. The sensor or sensors generate an output signal representing the sensed magnetic field change where the one or more axes is indicative of the cabinet door moved between the closed state and the open state.

SENSOR CALIBRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A sensor calibration system includes a controller configured to receive a first electrical output generated by a sensor while submitted to a first input condition and a second electrical output generated by the sensor while submitted to a second input condition. The first and second electrical outputs represent lower and upper limits, respectively, of a sensor measurement range. The controller obtains a first reference value that corresponds to the lower limit and a second reference value that corresponds to the upper limit, and determines a drift function of the sensor based on a value of the first electrical output, a value of the second electrical output, the first reference value, and the second reference value. The controller inputs a value of a raw electrical output generated by the sensor into the drift function to determine an adjusted value of the raw electrical output.

Switched closed loop read-out methods and systems for resonant sensing platforms

Embodiments of the invention include a resonant sensing system comprising driving circuitry to generate a drive signal during excitation time periods, a first switch coupled to the driving circuitry, and a sensing device coupled to the driving circuitry via the first switch during the excitation time periods. The sensing device includes beams to receive the drive signal during a first excitation time period that causes the beams to mechanically oscillate and generate a first induced electromotive force (emf) in response to the drive signal. The first switch decouples the sensing device and the driving circuitry during measurement time periods for measurement of the induced emf.

The method including: (i) ascertaining a processing specification of a test signal and/or of a characteristic physical variable and/or its respective change as a function of at least one part-specific property of the sensor system; and (ii) carrying out a subsequent diagnosis of a sensor element of the sensor system, using the processing specification ascertained in (i).

System and method for automatic runtime position sensor offset calibration in a linear motion system

A system automatically calibrates gains and/or offsets for each position feedback signal in order to reduce variations between position feedback signals for each sensor in a linear drive system. As a mover travels along a track segment, the segment controller records the position feedback signal output from each position sensor corresponding to a magnet on the mover passing the position sensor. The segment controller periodically monitors the position feedback values generated by one mover as it travels along the track segment and automatically updates the sensor gains as a function of a ratio of a target peak value to a measured peak value of the position feedback signal. The segment controller also records the position feedback signal from each sensor when no mover is traveling past the sensor. The segment controller periodically monitors the position feedback values received when no mover is present and automatically updates sensor offset values.

The present teaching relates to apparatus, method, medium, and implementations for simultaneously calibrating multiple sensors of different types. Multiple sensors of different types are first activated to initiate simultaneous calibration thereof based on a 3D construct including a plurality of fiducial marks. Sensors of different types including visual and depth based sensors operate in their respective coordinate systems. Each of the sensors is calibrated by acquiring sensor information of the 3D construct, detecting a feature point on each of the plurality of fiducial markers based on the sensor information, estimating a set of 3D coordinates, with respect to its coordinate system, corresponding to the detected feature points, based on which calibration parameters are generated. Sets of 3D coordinates derived in different coordinate systems are then used to compute at least one transformation matrix for corresponding at least one pair of the plurality of sensors.
