The invention relates to a granule portioning device for an agricultural dispensing machine, comprising a portioning chamber for forming granule portions and a portioning rotor located in the portioning chamber and having at least one contact body, the contact body being designed to move along a circular path during a rotational movement of the portioning rotor and to combine granules located in the portioning chamber into a granule portion.

A volumetric flow measuring and metering device for flowable solids as a flow passage through which a flow of bulk material may be passed. An obturating device is positioned at the bottom end of the flow passage and is movable in a linear direction toward and away from the bottom end. The obturating device is positioned relative to the bottom end of the flow passage at a distance that imparts a consolidated, column-like flow of the bulk material in the flow passage. A speed sensor operates to measure a speed of consolidated, column-like flow of the bulk material in the flow passage. A controller uses the speed data from the speed sensor to calculate a volumetric flow rate of the bulk material flowing through the flow passage. The obturating device can be selectively positioned to increase or decrease the volumetric flow rate of the bulk material. Other aspects are also provided.

Described is a powder dispensing apparatus for dispensing a powder, comprising: a dispensing chamber for dispensing a predetermined volume of powder to a receptacle; an inlet valve movable between a closed state and an open state to control ingress of powder into the dispensing chamber from a powder source; an outlet valve movable between a closed state and an open state to control egress of powder from the dispensing chamber to a receptacle. The inlet valve and outlet valve are individually actuated between the closed state and open state by a common removable handle. The inlet valve and outlet valve each comprise an interlock for receiving and engaging the handle. The interlock is configured to receive and release the handle when the respective valve is in the closed state and engage the handle so as to prevent removal of the handle when the respective valve is in the open state.

A vessel configured to contain a powder, semi-solid or liquid product and to dispense predetermined amounts of the product. The vessel includes a container, a limiting member, and a dispensing closure. The container, limiting member and dispensing closure are not integral with each other, are constructed as discrete components, and are assembled to form the vessel. The limiting member limits inward deflection of the container during each squeezing of the container to limit the amount of product displaced from the container into the dispensing closure.
