SMALL FLOW CAPACITY DISPLACEMENT PROVER FOR PROVING FLOW METER WITH LARGE FLOW CAPACITY
20180299320 · 2018-10-18 ·

A method for verifying the accuracy of a custody meter having a custody flow capacity with a displacement prover having a prover flow capacity includes providing a first master flow meter and a second master flow meter operating in parallel. The displacement prover is in series with the master flow meters and has a prover flow capacity that is less than the custody flow capacity. A fluid flow is diverted through the custody meter so that a portion of the fluid flow passes through each of the master flow meters. Each of the master flow meters are proved individually with the displacement prover. The custody meter is proved with both of the master flow meters operating simultaneously in parallel.

The disclosure relates to an application system and to an application method for applying a fluid (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, adhesive, paint, lubricant, preservation wax, sealant, or PUR foam) to a component (e.g., motor vehicle body component), comprising a flow measuring cell for measuring a quantity flow of the fluid and for producing a measurement signal corresponding to the measured quantity flow, and an evaluating unit for determining the quantity flow from the measurement signal of the flow measuring cellin accordance with a measuring specification. The disclosure further provides a calibrating device for automatically calibrating the measuring specification of the evaluating unit.

COAXIAL LINEAR DRIVE-END FOR SMALL VOLUME PROVER

A small volume prover apparatus and method for precisely measuring the displaced volume of a fluid. A precision bore cylinder and a piston can be configured with a valve arrangement in order to permit fluid to pass through an annular passage when the piston travels from one position to an opposite position. A magnetized forcer connected to the piston and a magnetic drive chamber configured to produce linear motion of said magnetized forcer are operably connected to the piston in order to move the piston from one position to the other.

During a water draw test, horizontal type bidirectional sphere provers with a straight calibrated section of pipe between the detector switches sometimes suffer from sphere launch failure which typically results in a failed water draw test. These types of provers, especially in larger pipe diameters will benefit from an elongate concentric fabricated reducer attached to the outlet of each launch tube. These elongate concentric fabricated reducers result in a successful sphere launch on the first attempt. Assuming all the other components of the prover are properly designed and assembled, a successful sphere launch will result in a successful water draw test on the first attempt saving time, money and reputation.

Method for diagnosing internal fault of oil-immersed transformer through content ratios of dissolved gases

A method for accurately diagnosing an internal fault of an oil-immersed transformer by analyzing content ratios of dissolved gases generated when the internal fault occurs in the oil-immersed transformer is provided. The method diagnoses the internal fault by analyzing the dissolved gases contained in the insulating oil of the oil-immersed transformer for internal fault diagnosis, wherein the method comprises: a first step of extracting H2, CH4, C2H4, and C2H2 from the dissolved gases; a second step of calculating a content ratio (%) of each dissolved gas from the total content of the four dissolved gases selected from the extracted five dissolved gases; and a third step of determining the internal fault of the oil-immersed transformer for diagnosis corresponding to an internal fault region according to content ratio (%) values of the calculated four dissolved gases and predetermined content ratios (%) of the four dissolved gases.

VALIDATING PERFORMANCE OF A BI-DIRECTIONAL PROVER

A bi-directional prover validation system includes a bi-directional prover that includes a calibration section and a launch section fluidly coupled to a fluid flow system that circulates a process fluid and configured to bi-directionally move a displacer through the fluid conduit. The bi-directional prover validation system includes a temperature sensor; a pressure sensor; a densometer; and a control system. The control system is configured to perform operations including identifying parameters associated with the bi-directional prover; identifying measurements from the temperature sensor, the pressure sensor, and the densometer; based on the identified measurements and the identified parameters, calculating an outlet pressure of the process fluid at the fluid outlet; comparing the calculated outlet pressure to a measured outlet pressure of the process fluid at the fluid outlet; and based on the comparison meeting a threshold, validating the bi-directional prover.
