Collapsible table

Disclosed is a collapsible furniture article. The collapsible furniture article comprises a horizontal support surface that articulates about a main support between an extended position and a collapsed position with respect thereto. A first primary leg is connected to the main support pivotally between an extended position and a collapsed position with respect thereto. A first secondary leg is pivotally connected to the first primary leg pivotally between an extended position and a collapsed position with respect thereto. The legs in the extended position are disposed to support the horizontal support surface in a horizontal position. In collapsed position, the primary legs are positioned between the collapsed support horizontal surface and the collapsed secondary legs.

A table has at least one table leg and a table top, the at least one table leg being pivotable relative to the table top, between an unfolded position and a folded position, about at least one first joint, wherein a strut is held on the table leg so that, at a first end, it is pivotable about a second joint, is provided for fixation of the table leg, and in the unfolded position of the table leg, it is operatively connected to the table top at a second end, opposite the first end. The table leg has a stop limiting the angle between the table leg and the table top in the unfolded position, such that the strut comes into frictional contact with the second end on a support surface held on the table top. In an unfolded direction of the strut, the support surface extends from a first end to a second end, and the distance from the first end of the support surface to the second joint in the unfolded position of the table leg is greater than the distance from the second end of the support surface to the second joint in the unfolded position of the table leg, so that, in the unfolded position, the strut is in self-locking frictional contact with the support surface.

Locking member for a table leg

A table may be sized and configured to nest with an adjacent table to reduce a height of a plurality of stacked tables in a nested configuration. The table may include a table top with a round or circular configuration and the table top may have a receiving portion, a downwardly extending lip, a contact surface and an engaging portion. The contact surface may have a ring-shaped configuration and be sized and configured to contact an upper surface of a table top of an adjacent table when the table is nested with the adjacent table. The engaging portion may also have a ring-shaped configuration and may be sized and configured to be disposed in a receiving portion of a table top of the adjacent table when the table is nested with the adjacent table.

Disclosed are pivoting mechanisms, sliding mechanisms, frames and tables. A pivoting mechanism includes a first coupling piece, a second coupling piece and a rod. The first and second coupling pieces are pivotally coupled with each other. The rod is operated by gravity to automatically lock or unlock the first and second coupling pieces. A sliding mechanism generally includes a slider and a locking member. The slider includes a sleeve to be slidably coupled with a bar. The locking member includes a restriction piece, operated by an elastic piece to be disposed inside of the bar, to automatically lock the sleeve at a certain position of the bar.

A collapsible table with four quarter sections. The first and second sides of each quarter section have a protrusion, a recess that receives the protrusion on an adjacent quarter section, and two apertures that allow a bungee cord to pass through them. The third and fourth sides of each quarter section are flat. The invention has four outer and four inner legs, the outer legs being stowable on the underside of the tabletop, and the inner legs being telescopically coupled with the outer legs. The outer and inner legs are constructed so that the overall height of the table can be adjusted depending on how the inner legs are inserted into the outer legs. The invention includes a key that fits into the underside of each quarter section to hold the tabletop together and two bungee cords that function as hinges between the quarter sections.
