Method for the gravimetric control of a metering device for a bulk material during the refilling of its storage container, and metering device for carrying out the method
The method according to the invention provides a way to continue gravimetric weighing of bulk material during refilling of a gravimetric metered dispensing unit, and to determine the mass of the refilled bulk material using a refilling container during the filling operation material and so determine the actual mass flow discharged during refilling in real time or on average in order to adjust it to a target mass flow.

Metered material feeder
A material handling machine dispenses uniformly metered charges of smoking material from a bulk supply, by means of a metered material feeder that has a first hopper with an opening disposed over a first horizontal chute. The first chute is mounted on slanted springs and has a dispensing end above a second chute also mounted upon slanted springs. The second chute discharges onto a tippable weighing tray above a set of nested hoppers in which one is fixed and the other is vertically movable. A weight sensor may be attached to the tippable tray or the fixed hopper, or both. The move-able hopper may comprise a forming belt indenter to form a trough in a cigarette rolling apparatus. The first hopper may include an agitator that has at least one vertical rod for stirring the bulk material. The dispensing end of the first chute may also include a rotating rake.

System and method for measuring grain cart weight
A system of detecting loading and unloading of mobile containers such as grain carts utilizes two low pass filters to determine whether the contents of the container are changing by subtracting one filter signal from the other, and using the sign of the difference. Weighing performance is improved by utilizing accelerometers to compensate for measurement dynamics and non-level orientation. Failure and degradation of weight sensors is detected by testing sensor half bridges. Loading and unloading weights can be tied to specific vehicles by utilizing RF beacons.

Decoupling point weight measurement
An apparatus or method for weighing and/or measuring the flow rate of quantity of a particulate flowing out of a hopper wherein the hopper is isolated from the other components of the apparatus. The apparatus and method are adapted to generate a decoupling point boundary that demarcates the total amount of particulate in the hopper into portions that are not fully supported and portions that are fully supported by the hopper. The particulate is in continuous contact with itself from the inlet to the outlet, with the particulate contained between the isolated hopper and the rest of the components of the system by a flexible coupling or some other method of containment. The invention has the advantages of higher accuracy, decreased cost and complexity, and greater reliability than other solid particulate weighing systems of the prior art, particularly when dealing with low density particulates.

Cigarette Rolling Machine
A cigarette rolling machine includes paper pick and place subassembly wherein bulk paper strip is provided by a roll resting upon spool hooks. The frame plates are held spaced apart by a plurality of struts. A paper drive motor drives a roller which may preferably be made of polyurethane or another material that paper may adhere to effectively. A fluid reservoir contains adhesive fluid which is delivered into a wick held in a wick retainer A pick arm mounted on vertical displacement struts raises and lowers a hollow pick manifold connected to a vacuum line so that it may pick up a cigarette paper and retain it on its underside surface for placement onto a section cigarette forming belt. A transfer pad swings from a pair of swing arms which each have a stud slidable within a serpentine groove of a guide plate affixed to the pick manifold.
