FOODWARE SYSTEM ILLUMINATING A DINING PLATE, SENSING FOOD NUTRITION, AND DISPLAYING FOOD INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT ON A MOBILE DEVICE
An active foodware system senses food characteristics, such as weight, calories, and other nutrition. Dining dishes may be removably mated with dish holders supported by a mechanical structure having visual stimulating, sensing, and wireless communication components. A visual stimulating component may emit light from a dining dish. The mechanical structure may protect the components and circuitry from liquid. The system may include a camera. Other components may provide data processing, auditory and haptic stimuli, wireless power, temperature sensing, and heating of food. Data related to the food may be sent to the internet as well as displayed on a visual stimulating component of a computer or mobile communication device, such as a mobile phone or tablet computer. Computer software may display nutrition information on the visual stimulating component before, during, and after dining. Computer software may provide visual and auditory encouragement for children to eat.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF DETECTING, IDENTIFYING AND CLASSIFYING OBJECTS POSITIONED ON A SURFACE
Systems and methods of detecting, identifying, and classifying objects positioned on a shelf are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a sensor pad comprises a plurality of electrical contacts disposed in the pad as a matrix of rows and columns of electrical contacts. Further, each contact corresponds to a different surface area of the pad and has a first electrical conductor positioned on a first layer and a second electrical conductor positioned opposite to the first conductor on a second layer. Also, at least one of the first and second conductors is operable to vary in resistance or capacitance based on an amount of pressure applied to that conductor. In addition, each contact is configured to enable an electrical connection between the first and second conductors with a resistance or capacitance that varies based on an amount of pressure applied to a corresponding area of the pad when an object is positioned on that pad.

CHANGING TABLE PLACED ON A GROUND OR A TABLE AND CAPABLE OF WEIGHTING A CHILD
A changing table, which is placed on a ground or a table and capable of weighting a child, includes a frame, a weighting module and a fabric component. The frame includes a lower frame including a supporting portion for supporting the changing table on a surface of the ground or the table, and an upper frame movably installed on the lower frame. The weighting module includes four load sensors disposed on four corners of the frame and between the lower frame and the upper frame. The fabric component covers the upper frame to form a supporting area for supporting the child. The changing table can measure a first weight of the child before feeding the child and further measure a second weight of the child after feeding the child, so as to determine a difference of the second weight and the first weight of the child as the feeding intake.
