METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A WEIGHING DEVICE
Method for controlling a weighing device (DP) via a terminal (TER), comprising the following steps: using the terminal (TER) to generate and/or acquire a piece of control information (Cde) comprising at least one refresh (Ins_ra) or update instruction (Ins_ac) relating to a refresh or update cyclic period and/or duty cycle of a function of at least one functional element (F) of the weighing device (DP), and sending said piece of control information (Cde) to the control entity (C), and controlling method internal to a weighing device (DP) comprising the following steps: receiving a piece of control information (Cde) originating from a terminal (TER), and adapting the refresh or update cyclic period and/or duty cycle of said function of the at least one functional element (F) depending on the at least one received refresh (Ins_ra) or update (Ins_ac) instruction.

An apparatus configured to assist with beverage preparation can include a main body having an outer housing, a weigh pan coupled to the main body, one or more user input components and a display component disposed at the outer housing, and a processor disposed within the main body. The weigh pan can support beverage components to be weighed, the user input components can accept user inputs regarding desired settings for beverage preparation, and the display component can display outputs regarding weights detected on the weigh pan The processor can facilitate automatically detecting the weight of ground coffee placed atop the weigh pan, determining a water target weight based on the detected ground coffee weight and a water ratio setting, detecting the water target weight being reached while water is being poured over the ground coffee, and providing output to a user when the water target weight is reached.
CUTTING BOARD WITH ACCESSORIES
A cutting board, a plurality of accessories and a method of use is disclosed. The board includes a base with top and bottom surfaces and a hole defined therein. A retaining wall provided on the base partially circumscribes the hole. Wedge-shaped regions of a back wall and a side wall taper outwardly from the retaining wall. Foodstuffs cut on the base are moved toward the hole and the wedge-shaped regions and curved retaining wall funnel the cut foodstuffs through the hole. A scale assembly may be placed into a recess provided in the underside of the cutting board such that a visual display extends through the hole. Cut foodstuffs are constantly weighed by the scale. A container may be positioned under the hole and be engaged with the cutting board. An overlay assembly may be placed on the top surface of the base to provide an additional removable cutting surface.
